Outstanding!
Revisado: 09-11-11
Don't be afraid by the title or a publisher review. The story is so alive and breathaking not to mention it is based on real facts. I felt I was watching a movie rather than listening to a narration, it was so vivid. Just can't stop. Barbara Rosenblat's narration this time was absolutely amazing! One of my favorite listens of all times!!!

If you are a Jane Austin fan then this is your book! I hope Daisy Goodwin will write other books in the same genre and will keep us readers busy for a long-long time!

Love it! Fantastic!

For me this is a type of book that always sits in your mind. Incredible story, I fell in love with the main characters in the book 1 and it was interesting to follow their story in the sequel. Can't stop. The narration is excellent! Highly recommend.

Historia
Jo Beckett is a forensic psychiatrist who profiles victims' lives to help solve their deaths. On a San Francisco street, she is confronted by a scene of pure carnage: four dead and five injured after a high speed pursuit. In the mangled remains of a BMW lies prosecutor Callie Harding, dead with the word "dirty" written in lipstick on her thigh. Why did Harding run from the police? Why did she crash through a bridge railing? Was it an accident? Suicide? Or murder? Jo is a last resort in difficult cases.

Extremey booooring...
Revisado: 09-11-11
The plot and characters are so weak and boring. Overall, this book has such a negative aura - suicides, eartquakes, killers, car and chopper's crashes, wicked people, lost love ones etc etc, every disaster you can imagine detailed here in this book. I was looking for an entertainment, a good old suspense, but the story gets from bad to worse and let me down completely. Stopped in the middle with a feeling that life sucks and then we die... Brrrrrr.... I wish I spent my money for something more interesting or educating.

Narrator sucks!!!
Revisado: 04-16-11
The book is great and entertaining. But I'd rather read it than listen to the narrator's disgusting saliva gulping sounds... How is it possible?

Historia
Death is reporter Jack McEvoy's beat: his calling, his obsession. But this time, death brings McEvoy the story he never wanted to write - and the mystery he desperately needs to solve. A serial killer of unprecedented savagery and cunning is at large. His targets: homicide cops, each haunted by a murder case he couldn't crack. The killer's calling card: a quotation from the works of Edgar Allan Poe. His latest victim is McEvoy's own brother. And his last...may be McEvoy himself.

Love the book. The story is full of twists and unfolds dramatically, there is no gaps, I had all the answers. Read a lot of negative critigue about the narrator, but I had no problems with a deep narrator's voice here, this is a matter of preference.
