Another cash grab book by Bevan
Revisado: 03-10-20
I’m a fan of the series. His books are hit or miss. This is a miss. Barely any laughable jokes. Seems like he started by coming up with cleaver chapter titles and made a story from them. However, this book was better than the Disney ripoff book.

Historia
Gary Karkofsky, A.K.A Merciless, the supervillainy without mercy, has decided to retire from Supervillainy. He's lost too many friends and killed too many people (though they all had it coming). Unfortunately, this proves to be easier said than done when the department of supernatural services (DOSS) shows up to arrest him for all of his crimes. Quickly landing himself in more trouble, he decides to get out of town and help a struggling underground kingdom in the center of the Earth. What he finds is an army of Nazis, gods, lost temples, and dinosaurs.

A mediocre time waster
Revisado: 11-25-19
At this point in the series, it’s a rinse and repeat attitude. Like watching a tv series to waste time and they finish the episode with a neat little bow in 30 minutes. Pretty much a C.T. Phipps cash grab mini adventure. Same tired pop culture references to identify with target audience. “OMG, did he mention Game Of Thrones??”

Historia
What is it like for a small flap-eared goblin herbalist to play the role of the Dark Sovereign, the main antagonist for Boundless Realm's hundreds of millions of players? What is it like to find one's self the standard bearer for an army of man-eating giants, cyclops, skeletons, ghosts, and other hellspawn, who don't give a damn about their modest little ruler? Our hero didn't desire such an unenviable fate, but there is no way back now. But the longer he plays, the better he understands that he is just a pawn in someone else's game.

Predictable writing and story
Revisado: 11-24-19
After getting through his other books, this Author continuously shows that the world in which he grew up completely affects his writing style and story telling ability. I find all authors from the same background all usually write similarly. This book is no different. The male protagonist is the underdog, but is the smartest, best and strongest and always comes out on top. They always end up winning and becoming the top person and all around eventually bow to their superiority etc.
About 30% into this book I was looking towards finishing it and getting on with a different book. Having to listen to him continuously refer to his “big eared goblin” or his “beautiful goblin wife” as a descriptor, was an annoyance and borderline painful.

Historia
My name is Opal Yong-ae, and I’m a Cleaner. At least, I used to be. Thanks to the supernatural bad luck that turns everything I do against me, these days I’m more of a walking disaster. Getting rid of this curse is the only way to get my life back. Unfortunately, dragon magic is every bit as sneaky and deadly as the monsters behind it, and just as hard to beat.

This is one of those books that will grab you and pull you into the story so much, you’ll find yourself sitting in your driveway, not getting out of the car and listening because you want to hear how things progress.

Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Ending was Rushed
Revisado: 06-02-17
I'm a fan of Bevan. Reading this series always brings a few laughs. However, in this book it was like he was in a rush to end it. He tied the whole story up in about 2 chapters. It's like he was writing it in a bar, and they were closing, and had just turned the lights on.

Historia
When he’s awake, George Bailey is just an ordinary man. Five days a week he coaxes his old Hyundai to life, curses the Los Angeles traffic, and clocks in at his job as a handyman at the local college. But when he sleeps, George dreams of something more. George dreams of flying. He dreams of fighting monsters. He dreams of a man made of pure lightning, an armored robot, a giant in an army uniform, a beautiful woman who moves like a ninja.

Really slow on the story line
Revisado: 04-11-17
A few chapters in and you already know what's going on. But the story gets drawn out like 20 more chapters, to the point it's boring.

Author seems to have a warped view of women
Revisado: 09-09-16
I'm into RPG's, D&D, and MMORPGS. I grew up with them. This story, while it has an interesting premise, reads like it was written by a man with low self esteem and a derogatory view of women. The female characters are limited to being just stereo typical sexual trophies for the male character and lack depth. The main protagonist is the hero of his own story. He vanquishes all opponents unchallenged, thinks of all the best strategies, comes up with a plan no one else could, is honoured and admired by all for being the absolute best in such a short period of time. He is basically the superman of his story. He can do no wrong and overcomes everything thrown at him with minimal effort.
The story reads like its a video game, overly technical, and lacking substance. The author uses a lot of slang and abbreviations that many may not get. The only saving grace to the story so far, is in the last hour of the book. Unfortunately, I pre purchased the first 3 books based on reviews. Oh well.

Historia
Maurice has just killed a dragon with a bread knife. And had his destiny foretold…and had his true love spirited away. That's precisely the sort of stuff that'd bring out the latent heroism in anyone. Unfortunately, Maurice is pretty sure he hasn't got any latent heroism. Meanwhile, a man wakes up in a jar in a different kind of pickle (figuratively speaking). He can't get out, of course, but neither can he remember his name, or what gravity is, or what those things on the ends of his legs are called…and every time he starts working it all out, someone makes him forget again.

Way to much filler
Revisado: 05-13-15
Bought it as it's the next book in the series. Like the last there is way too much filler. It's entertaining but if you removed the filler the book would be an hour or 2 long.

Historia
Things have been going pretty badly for Theo Bernstein. An unfortunate accident at work has lost him his job (and his work involved a Very Very Large Hadron Collider, so he's unlikely to get it back). His wife has left him. And he doesn't have any money. Before Theo has time to fully appreciate the pointlessness of his own miserable existence, news arrives that his good friend, a renowned physicist and Nobel laureate, has died. By leaving the apparently worthless contents of his safety deposit box to Theo, however, the professor has set him on a quest of epic proportions.

A decent book. But drawn out unnecessarily
Revisado: 04-25-15
The book is read well, and it keeps your attention at the start. But about mid way through, its like a bad movie that has been unnecessarily extended with filler just to make it longer. The book has so much filler in the middle I was tempted to stop listening.
