Historia
Never trust a stranger… But late at night and trapped in the middle of nowhere during a terrible snowstorm, Tibby and Walker have no choice. With roads shutting down and cell towers out, running into each other and deciding to travel together could either be their saving grace or worst mistake. When they’re forced to take an unexpected detour and seek refuge in a roadside motel, the storm quickly becomes the least of their worries.

Surprising ending
Revisado: 04-15-25
A good story with a surprising ending. Told through three perspectives on dual timelines, Kiersten Modglin kept me guessing for the entire ride. I would have liked to see more action toward the first half of the book but the second half really picked up and then tied everything together.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 09-12-18
Born a Crime is a great book. Looking at the clean cut Trevor Noah, whom we see on television, one would not expect what this book presented. His life was filled with ups and downs and many twists. The book was funny and sad, even educational as he described what life in South Africa was like.
I enjoyed the true story of Trevor Noah's life. Hearing the author's voice do the reading was a win. As the book features many African phrases (coupled with translation) used in dialogue, it was beneficial to hear the author's mastery of the many languages. He used his version a of child's voice, his mom imitation voice, variations of deepening for men voices, and of course his own natural voice as he read. I enjoyed this Audible Book and recommend this it even if it is outside of your normally preferred genre.
