This book is wrong in many ways.
Revisado: 01-31-19
All 3 nurses in this book are totally unprofessional. In real life their licenses would be suspended or revoked. Sleeping with their patient's son, discussing their patient with their own family (breaking confidentiality of patient) and involving the patient in their own personal situations are all grounds for license censuring. Also, cannot believe no one expressed any concern rsgarding sexually transmitted diseases when Reid was so promiscuous that he did not rscognize many of the women that he had sex with. He should have been the one who was sick with Hepatitis C or HIV, etc. When people need organ transplants, they are put on a list to receive one according to the urgency of preserving life and the availability of a matching donor. Reid's pitch on tv did nothing to get a donor and was stupid. The whole premise of the the newspaper story about his sexual inadequacy was ludricous.

lead female character very irritating, and I do not know why Ronan was attracted to her, especially in the first half of the book. She was not very believable. Reader sounded too flippant at times.

Historia
Annie Marlow has been through the worst. Rocked by tragedy, she heads to the one place that makes her happy: Oceanside in the Pacific Northwest, the destination of many family vacations when Annie was a teenager. Once there, Annie begins to restore her broken spirit, thanks, in part, to the folks she meets: a local painter, Keaton, whose large frame is equal to his big heart - and who helps Annie fix up her rental cottage by the sea; Mellie, the reclusive, prickly landlord Annie is determined to befriend; and Britt, a teenager with a terrible secret.

Was this romantic love?
Revisado: 08-20-18
relationship between leading characters seemed a little unbelievable. I did not think that the book showed any romantic tension between them, especially on Annie's part. It really did not seem that she was attracted to Keaton. Seems like she just fell into being with him because he was so obsessed with her. I think the author spent too much time on his negative "physical characteristics. " It was hard for me to picture in my mind the two of them being together. I guess they hit it off because they were all so broken , as well as the rest of the main characters in the book.

unrealistic at times.
Revisado: 06-28-18
Hard to believe that a parent would allow a 5 yr old go surfing in the ocean while she watched from the porch of her home. He could disappear in a heartbeat. Negligent behavior--call child protective services.
Alice and Jack had spent time together at 15 but they did not recognize each other at 24--unbelievable.
Jack was a pediatric neurology surgeon at 24.--he would just barely be through medical school.
Millie and Jack gave up nursing and doctor careers to do seasonal restaurant work-unbelievable.
Did not see what was so wonderful about Alice that everyone would give up their usual lives to be near her. She seemed very selfish. Got tired of her telling Jack to stay away.
It was frustrating for Alice to have so many internal conversations when she was supposed to be interacting with other people.
