Historia
The economic and monetary disaster, which seasoned Wall Street prognosticator Peter Schiff warned of in the bestselling first edition of Crash Proof, is no longer hypothetical - it is here today. And while most people believe that the economic collapse is over, the reality is that it has only just begun. That's why he's returned with Crash Proof 2.0.

Sound advice based on common sense.
Revisado: 11-16-09
If I had followed Peter Schiff's advice when I listened to Crash Proof when it was first released I would probably be pretty happy with the current state of my portfolio instead of pretty unhappy that I lost more than half of it. Well, I'm listening now.
This is the first book, updated at the end of each chapter. Timely info based on sound money economics.
Peter has stood the test of time. His predictions in 1.0 we're mostly on the mark. More importantly, his overall strategy has been proven correct for anyone that is investing for the long-term.
Paul Krugman fans turn back now,.. unless you want to hear the truth about how big government will continue to drag us all down the Road to Serfdom.
Well, hind-sight being 20/20 and all; I am following his advice now.

Historia
Inspired by the events of September 11, and Hurricane Katrina, SOS-USA tackles the issue of the reversible downward spiral our nation is currently enduring. If we can see it, why can't our government officials? Is it that they can do something but choose not to just so that they can get reelected? Is their legacy more important than We the People's future?

Almost painful...
Revisado: 11-16-09
I agree with Elton mostly. Not that I disagreed with much of what Simple Citizen had to say, but,.. "close-minded" describes the author. After an hour I stopped it, and deleted from iTunes.
I don't have a problem with listening to average guy from the Bronx (or so he sounded) railing on about this country's problems, but his vocabulary does not fit. I think he must have worn out his thesaurus picking out big words. I may have at least finished listening if he had just spoken in plain English without trying to use every 50 cent word he could throw in there.
Also, his reading is horrible. There are many slight pauses and other vocal distractions. I could almost see him running his finger over the script while fumbling over the words. He wrote it,.. so why does he sound like he's reading some text book he is not familiar with?
Hey Simple Citizen, re-record this thing in your own words. I'll probably still disagree with some of your conclusions, but at least I'd listen to the end.

The media tells us that "deregulation" and "unfettered free markets" have wrecked our economy and will continue to make things worse without a heavy dose of federal regulation. But the real blame lies elsewhere. In Meltdown, best-selling author Thomas E. Woods, Jr., unearths the real causes behind the collapse of housing values and the stock market---and it turns out the culprits reside more in Washington than on Wall Street.

It kind of reminded me of 'The Millionaire Next Door' (which I liked) but more specialized.
They do seem to dwell on a few topics, especially medical.
But, overall I thought it was worth a listen.

I liked this book very much. It has a lot of useful information,...but,... they kind of run through it very quickly. They blaze through some of the key points. I had to listen to it a few time to fully ingest the material.
good stuff though.

Very interesting subject. The History Channel show of the same name only scratched the surface of total content of the book.
It's nice to know that the Earth will have no almost no memory of us after several thousand years.

Historia
Captain Kidd has gone down in history as America's most ruthless buccaneer. However, Captain William Kidd was no career cut-throat; he was a tough, successful New York sea captain who was hired to chase pirates. Across the oceans of the world, the pirate hunter, Kidd, pursued the pirate, Culliford. One man would hang in the harbor; the other would walk away with the treasure. The Pirate Hunter is both a masterpiece of historical detective work and a page-turner.
