Historia
We all experience moments when God's love and presence are tangible. But we also experience feeling utterly abandoned by God. Why? The answer is found when you take a deep look at the other important relationships in your life and understand your attachment style. Through his years working in trauma recovery programs, extensive research into attachment science, and personal experiences with spiritual striving and abuse, licensed therapist Krispin Mayfield has learned to answer the question: Why do I feel so far from God?

Felt like a sad/generic self-help book more than anything about God. Used old/repeated phsych examples. I couldn’t get through the whole book.

Historia
What happens when we literally walk out our Christian life? We discover the joy of traveling at the speed of our soul. We often act as if faith is only about the mind. But what about our bodies? What does our physical being have to do with our spiritual life? When the Bible exhorts us to walk in the light, or walk by faith, or walk in truth, it means these things literally as much as figuratively. The Christian faith always involves walking out, as again and again we find the holy in the ordinary.

Do not recommend
Revisado: 08-11-23
I am sorry, but I do not recommend this book. It comes across as an autobiography of an arrogant stereotypical white man. The significant amount of liberty the writer took with the intentions of Jesus and his disciples were just too much for me. And I am sorry again, but it came across as a quite boring read. It is a great topic and premise, though.

Historia
The Malazan Empire simmers with discontent, bled dry by interminable warfare, bitter infighting and bloody confrontations with the formidable Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii, ancient and implacable sorcerers. Even the imperial legions, long inured to the bloodshed, yearn for some respite. Yet Empress Laseen's rule remains absolute, enforced by her dread Claw assassins.

No character development
Revisado: 02-04-23
For the first time, since I can remember, I stopped reading a book halfway through. The author just doesn’t seem to develop the main characters at all, I’m sorry to say. I’m finally giving up on feigning interest. Perhaps the second half is a lot better than the first.

Historia
The Royal Society of Unnatural Philosophers, one of the most respected organizations throughout all of England, has long been tasked with maintaining magic within His Majesty's lands. But lately the once proper institute has fallen into disgrace, naming an altogether unsuitable gentleman - a freed slave who doesn't even have a familiar - as their Sorcerer Royal and allowing England's once profuse stores of magic to slowly bleed dry. At least they haven't stooped so low as to allow women to practice....

The colloquials used are too distracting
Revisado: 01-19-23
The British colloquials are so scripted and straight from Jane Austin’s books that it ruined the book / story for me. The language was way too cliche and distracting. The story is very lighthearted and somewhat interesting. I selected this as a suggested next series after Wheel of Time, and would not put it in the same league at all.
