Weston Calloway and Carlee Jolly were worlds apart. The most unlikely of friends, but forged a great secret friendship nonetheless. Secret because no one knew they were friends, much less that they could get along without buffers. When Weston needs a fake girlfriend to put an ex off, Carlee is the one person that can fill in those shoes. But then playing into the roles in a fake relationship makes them question if they could survive something more. Weston knows what he wants; he wants Carlee but her past relationships have her scared of commitment, of admitting feelings, of giving in to the emotions that come with that forever after. Weston gives her the time she needs and lovingly supports her along the way. This may have been the best friends to lovers story I have read in a while. Weston and Carlee spent a year getting to know one another in the deepest, most honest way so to see them fall in love (well, Weston fell a long time ago and has the patience of a saint) made the story extra special. The banter and tension between the two kept everyone guessing. And when Carlee finally admitted her feelings, Weston was there to catch her. Sigh....

Savannah Thomas and Marcio Catalano...what a great combination of voices to narrate this story! They brought the characters to life and gave them personality.

Ever since the Cage family came into my orbit, I have been intrigued by what was to come. The dynamics in any family can be complicated, but 2 sets of siblings sharing the same father and discovering the newbies after said father has passed?!?!? Insert drama.

Isabella Cage Dixon's life is in enough of an upheaval trying to navigate new siblings and the terms of their fathers' will for their inheritance. Running into Weston Caldwell was not on her bingo card. Years ago she thought she would be spending the rest of her life with Weston, but he left her with a note. We find out why Weston left her and his dedication to ensuring that his siblings became upstanding individuals. Her feelings for Weston never went away and vice versa; they just shoved them deep down. Running into each other again brought up the feelings of anger, regret and pain all over again. As the oldest siblings, they both had heavy burdens to carry and work through. Getting their second chance was the unexpected piece of the puzzle that they needed to complete their forever.

Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton voiced Bella and Weston with such talent. I felt every emotion, all the feelings of anger and regret, and the relief that it was possible to get a second chance at spending the rest of forever together.

When they first meet, neither Reagan nor Hart are looking for anything long-term. It's purely physical and they don't share personal details about themselves. But the more time they spend together, the more they need to get to know one another. Except why ruin a good thing? Even as Reagan begins to ask questions, Hart keeps her at arm's length. Maybe it's the nature of his job at Harper Security Ops? But as women in Steel Ridge start to disappear, Hart becomes concerned about Reagan's safety. Those feelings he's trying to tamp down keep wanting to rush out and tell her how he really feels. When Reagan vanishes it takes everything in Hart to be patient and not rush the process of getting her and the other women to safety. But Reagan only sees betrayal.

Kit Swann and CJ Mission really brought this book to life! I felt every emotion that ran through the characters. The moment things changed for Reagan and Hart could be felt as Kit and CJ narrated the story. The nuances in their voices, the tone and inflection, all gave this book the emotions and suspense. Reagan and Hart's story will linger for a while.

Crew McTavish isn't a Montgomery, but he might as well be. Even though he's dated a couple of them, he's still considered part of the family. Crew can't help himself when it comes to Aria. They've had a few one night stands in secret, but nothing more. He'd do anything for her, whatever it is. He just can't understand the pull her supposed friend Travis has on her. When a stranger's comments hit a little too hard for Aria to handle, the first person she thinks of going to is Crew. He gives her the ultimatum that if they do anything it's no longer in secret. He wants a relationship where he doesn't have to hide how he feels. And oh how perfect they were for each other. Crew had a lot of demons to work through, a family that viewed outward appearances as most important, and expectations that went with that. If there was any family that Crew was most suited for, it was the Montgomerys. Aria had her own demons to conquer. They helped each other slay those fears and misgivings, cared for each other in a way that no one else could, and loved each other so wholeheartedly.

Lucy Rivers and Oscar Reyes narrated the audiobook. They brought the characters and their story to life. I felt the emotions that ran through the book and their voices kept me hooked to the very end.

Paige had the biggest crush on Rhett Walker, her older brother's best friend. She had a secret she shared with Rhett. He didn't believe it was anything and went about his business which only led him down the path of divorce and shared custody of his two children. Fast forward to Paige injuring herself and not being able to start her job as a cheer coach after college. Her step-mother doesn't have space for her to convalesce. Rhett finds her sleeping in her car and that was the beginning of the Rhett and Paige show. It was supposed to be a marriage of convenience. Get Rhett and his brothers the bank loan for the ranch, and give Paige a place to stay and a job. But being around Paige, the way she interacted with the boys with love and care, taking care of everyone, making life a little bit easier for Rhett. Rhett began to see Paige in a different light, someone who was strong and resilient, supportive and compassionate, fiercely loyal and independent. The feelings that bloom between them is hard to tamp down.

The narrators, Vanessa Edwin and Sebastian York, were like music to my ears! Their voices were perfection for this couple. The emotions were palpable and the love shown through.

Gannon Brewer has to be the most elusive of the bunch. He spent his youth trying to emulate his father and now he's trying to pick up the pieces of the mess he left behind. Carys Johnson is completely off limits to him. She's more than 10 years younger and is his brother Tate's best friend. No matter how attracted he is to Carys, Gannon can't cross that line no matter how many innuendos she tosses his way. She approaches him about taking care of the plants in the Brewer Group office. She really needs this contract to stay afloat. Carys wears Gannon down eventually, which gives him the opportunity to run into her every so often and keep tabs on her.

Gannon met his match with Carys. She was feisty and determined but also sensitive and needed someone to believe in her and her abilities. Gannon was the perfect partner for her. They shared their deepest feelings and let their emotions free with each other. And Tate... OMG he was so Tate, his over the top self. So hilarious! I love these Brewers!

Oh, the audiobook! Angelina Rocca and Jack Callihan were amazing narrators! Ms. Rocca was the perfect Carys. Carys's personality and emotions shown through Ms. Rocca's voice. Mr. Callihan's voice was just as amazing for Gannon. His different vocal tones really brought out Gannon's character.

This review is not easy for me to write, but I will do my best to do this story justice. If your situationship did not end in HEA, maybe this book is not for you. If you like to escape reality and enjoy happy endings regardless of your real life situation, keep reading.

You see, Kat Ramsey was engaged. She was set to marry this guy only to find out he was married with children. What the heck?!?! Determined to get over him, Kat set out to do something out of the ordinary. If a committed relationship left her bereft, maybe a one night stand would be better. After that one night, she and Graham Stephenson exchange numbers and so ensues meet ups. It's all Graham wants any way after his divorce is finalized. They don't exchange any personal information, but after running into Graham in her area, she thinks maybe she should know a little more. But Graham is resistant.

Now, some parts of this story was painful for me, but this is not about me. If it weren't for narrators Kit Swann and Aaron Shedlock, I may not have had the wherewithal to finish listening. But, Kit and Aaron brought this special something to the story. They picked up on the emotions of the characters. The subtle nuances. The hidden feelings. The love between two people who were fractured, but not broken.

So, bring me a story written by AK and couple it with stellar narrators Kit and Aaron and I was able to escape my reality.

Cierra and Greyson first meet when Greyson comes to pick up nephew from school where she is the librarian. When Cierra finds out the man she helped put behind bars is being released from jail soon, she proactively seeks out a self-defense course. Greyson can't believe his luck! This is his chance to keep Cierra in his sights for the foreseeable future. He's just a little bit jealous of his coworkers with their significant others and settled lives. He wants what they have. He falls hard and fast for Cierra. His protective mode is on at all times. Sigh...

What makes this story and the entire series enjoyable is the choice of narrators. Mackenzie Cartwright and Troy Duran embody the characters so wholeheartedly. When Cierra is scared, I can feel it in Mackenzie's tone of voice. When Greyson is in protective mode, Sebastian's voice takes on this gruff, but authoritative tone.

Emma Wilder and Sebastian York as narrators was chef's kiss! Sebastian's voice was perfect for Chance's character. He gave that mature, distinguished nature to the character. Emma's voice embodied Rowan, giving joie de vivre to the character.
