Love these meditations. They resonate with me as I begin to practice. There is just enough instruction and education to answer the questions my mind brings up. This instills confidence. Thank you.

Historia
Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows. Genevieve rose from the ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son. When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school.

Historia
Martin Clark has been praised as "part John Grisham, part Hunter S.Thompson, and part sheer grit". Mason Hunt returns to his small Virginia hometown as the county's commonwealth attorney. Mason's brother Gates, who's currently serving a 20 year prison term, thinks Mason should have enough pull to set him free. And when Mason refuses, Gates hatches a plan to destroy his brother's life with a secret they both swore they'd take to the grave.

Good story, well written and narrated.

I like his writing and will read the rest of his novels. This book didn’t have humor like The Substitution Order. The story felt serious and tragically real. Characters are well-developed.

Historia
At the height of World War II, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was home to 75,000 residents, consuming more electricity than New York City. But to most of the world, the town did not exist. Thousands of civilians - many of them young women from small towns across the South - were recruited to this secret city, enticed by solid wages and the promise of war-ending work. Kept very much in the dark, few would ever guess the true nature of the tasks they performed each day in the hulking factories in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.

So disappointing!
Revisado: 01-20-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone on a deserted island with nothing else to read or listen to.
Has The Girls of Atomic City turned you off from other books in this genre?
No. Just those that are as poorly done.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Cassandra Campbell?
Someone who would have learned to properly pronounce the names of the towns she was talking about,
Any additional comments?
This could have been such amazing stuff. I work with people who work or have worked at these plants. It is fascinating stuff! I hope another author will tackle the same subject matter. Then, I hope someone will proof it before it gets released on Audible so that errors in pronunciation that are really quite obvious can be corrected. Overall, it was a snoozefest when I wasn't annoyed and disappointed.

Historia
It's 1964 and 10-year-old Felix is sure of a few things: the birds and the bees are puzzling, television is magical, and this is one Christmas he'll never forget. LBJ and Lady Bird are in the White House, Meet the Beatles is on everyone's turntable, and Felix Funicello (distant cousin of the iconic Annette!) is doing his best to navigate fifth grade - easier said than done when scary movies still give you nightmares and you bear a striking resemblance to a certain adorable cartoon boy.

Revisado: 12-10-13
What did you love best about Wishin' and Hopin'?
This book made me smile, and laugh and reminisce and imagine life in a simpler time. Excellent story, characters, narration. Just fabulous holiday fun!
What other book might you compare Wishin' and Hopin' to and why?
I want more books like this! Reminds me of A Christmas Story. The only book I am reminded of is Littlle Blog on the Prairie. It too was family friendly and a good escape.
Any additional comments?
I loved this. Am sending it to friends in place of a Christmas card! Isn't that a great idea!

Don't spend your credit here.
Revisado: 10-09-13
What disappointed you about The Journal Keeper?
It doesnt translate into spoken word. I was disappointed. It was tedious. I didn't enjoy the narration, the content, the voice. There were snippets of wisdom that made me want to like it, but I found myself fighting to continue to listen. I think I liked the author. I would have liked her more for 5 minutes a week, or a month.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Different genre.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Reading it?
What character would you cut from The Journal Keeper?
I can't say there's a least favorite character, because they are her friends and family. I like her relationship with her mother.
Any additional comments?
This might have been a good written word book. It might have been a fun and charming book to lick up and read a page from time to time, but hours and hours of entries read in no particular order, went from curious, to tedious, to turn it off!

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Where does 14 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top ten of several hundred.
What other book might you compare 14 to and why?
In my reaction to the characters, Mr.Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore. For not wanting to put it down, any in the Outlander series, for ability to make me suspend my disbelief in un-reality/fantasy, Hunger Games...
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
Tim, or Veek, or Nate! Great job Narrator! I can't choose!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely!

The worst book I've ever read all the way through
Revisado: 09-15-13
What disappointed you about The Mystery of Mercy Close?
It was not funny,or engaging, but rather dreary and gray all the way through. Not Marian Keyes usual great work.
What was most disappointing about Marian Keyes’s story?
Her characters were not as dimensional, they were flat. The protagonist waa neither sympathetic nor non sympathetic, just pitiable when not boring.I was so disappointed that it was not even nearly as good as her others.
How could the performance have been better?
The performance didn't add anything. Some performers add to the enjoyment. This was a dud.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I am proud of myself for sticking with a really bad book all the way to the end. I have never done that before.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Performance was fine

Timely. Learn and listen.
Revisado: 01-03-13
If you could sum up House Rules in three words, what would they be?
Compassionate,complex, compelling.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The mom. A single mom raising two boys, one with special needs, advocating all the time, trying to do her best for her son with special needs. Jodi Pcoult displays the way a good mom loses sight of the forest for the trees, and how this one lost sight of the needs of her other son, herself, and her family as a whole, while focusing with laser precision on what one of her boys needed. I like how very human this mom is portrayed to be, flawed, but likable.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrators were so good...they never, ever "got in the way" of the story. Great choice of narrators.
Who was the most memorable character of House Rules and why?
Jacob. He is a combination of kids I love in my real life...
Any additional comments?
Fantastic audible, worth 2 credits, but I am glad it was only one!
