Great narration and very enjoable story. Nicely done. David Horovitch never disappoints. I only wish Audible had more books with him.

Great performance and so-so story

I love Juliet Stevenson as a performer and normally try to listen to everything she is reading. Saying all that, I had my reservations about this book (due to author who I don't normally like) but purchased it only because of the performer. I was pleasantly surprised in the beginning. The story was developing really well and the first part was down right enjoyable. It went down hill after that. The story is weak, characters are not developed, in short, a disappointment. Only because I love Juliet Stevenson, I will finish the story. Otherwise, I would not bother.

This is a great story and the narrator is very good. Unfortunately, there is a lot of background noise. I did let the Audible.com people know. Hopefully, the quality issue will be resolved.

I will listen to anything Juliet Stevenson reads

I have purchased Middlemarch read by a different narrator before and simply could not listen to it. It was boring, and very long.
Well, when I have learned that Juliet Stevenson has produced this book, I have purchased it right away and was not sorry. Amazing skill of the narrator brought all the characters alive and made this 19th century piece of literature very relevant in our modern life. George Elliot was one sharp woman and knew how to develop her characters. Brilliant!

Anton Lesser has a magical penetrating voice and amazing ability to create a 'theater' for his listeners. I am simply amazed at the skill. He is my new favorite narrator.
