Historia
Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

One of my new favorite books
Revisado: 01-17-24
Tim Kennedy is like Captain America times a million but he's real. What an amazing guy! His stories had me sitting in the driveway because I couldn't pull myself away. He is a real hero saving lives and helping others. How he describes his life during wartime, the honesty he tells it with, really brings the war to you and makes you stare at the reality that our soldiers had to face. I have no idea how he has done so much in the life he has lived already. He is humble and funny and his story telling is captivating. I am so impressed with this man. Everyone I have recommended this book to has loved it and recommended it too. What a cool person! Watch his Range 15 movie if you want something crude, lame and B horror quality.

I am a bat Lover now!
Revisado: 06-20-23
This was a great book! I learned a ton about bats, especially that they are NOT flying rabies bags. They are so important to so many ecosystems and our lives in general.
The author is a real life adventurer...the Indian Jones of bat research. His accounts of his travels and adventures will keep you in the car to find out what happens next. My whole family listened to the book. We just ordered a bat box! I always enjoy this narrator too!

Loved it! Obi-Wan is center stage
Revisado: 06-29-22
I had to do a lot of parking lot and driveway sitting to finish chapters. It was so good. It was Obi-Wan center stage with Bail Organa. It was a good Star Wars adventure. Great narration.

Good but lacking any major Star wars characters

It was okay. It was entertaining enough but didn't really make me feel like I was in a Star Wars world. The narrator was good.

Tatooine—a harsh desert world where farmers toil in the heat of two suns while trying to protect themselves and their loved ones from the marauding Tusken Raiders. A backwater planet on the edge of civilized space. And an unlikely place to find a Jedi Master in hiding, or an orphaned infant boy on whose tiny shoulders rests the future of a galaxy.

Loved it! Great narration made it awesome.
Revisado: 05-22-22
The story starts with Obi-Wan bringing Luke as a baby to his family but steers more into Obi-Wan's life starting on Tatooine. I really loved the writing. The author had me hooked. I almost wished I read the hard copy of book so I could've read it all night. Instead I ended up sitting in the driveway and parking lots to fnish up chapters. The narrator was fantastic giving each character convincing consistent voices. It was not outer galactic but just a fun story getting personal with Obi-Wan.

Historia
By the golden age of the mountain man in the mid-19th-century, there were perhaps only 3,000 living in the West. Their origins were disparate, although they included many Anglo-Americans. A good number hailed from wilderness regions of Kentucky and Virginia and throughout the newly purchased Louisiana Territory, which occupied the entire central section of the continent. French Canadians traveled from the north to work in the fur trade, while Creole-Europeans represented approximately 15 percent of the men known to be living the isolated mountain life.

I appreciated this quick read to learn about Grizzly Adams. What an odd duck that guy was. He totally deserved getting smacked down by his bears repeatably. That guy was jerk.

Historia
On the Alaska Peninsula, where exceptional landscapes are commonplace, a small river attracts attention far beyond its scale. Each year, from summer to early fall, brown bears and salmon gather at Brooks River to create one of North America's greatest wildlife spectacles. As the salmon leap from the cascade, dozens of bears are there to catch them, and thousands of people come to watch in person or on the National Park Service's popular Brooks Falls Bearcam. The Bears of Brooks Falls tells the story of this region and the bears that made it famous.

A great grizzly read
Revisado: 06-26-21
I really enjoyed this book. Learning about the geology and history of Brooks Falls was very interesting. The author made you feel like you were visiting. I really liked the bear stories. I hope that the park will adjust its policies on tourism to better keep the bears as top priority. I'm not sure if I would like to visit and contribute to being an intrusion to the bears but it would be cool to be in all the action.

A hilarious, heartwarming, and heartbreaking memoir by the chief wildlife ranger in the number one most popular family vacation destination in the USA, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For over 30 years, Kim DeLozier acted as a referee in the wild, trying to protect millions of park visitors from one of the densest populations of wild black bears in America - and the bears from tourists who get too close.

Great , lighthearted and humorous
Revisado: 01-19-21
I loved the narrator of this book, he slipped you in to that southern feel. The book cracked me up with the author's adventures as a ranger in the smokey mountains and it's wildlife. Bears were the main stars of the book but there were all sorts of other critters in it. I was laughing out loud especially with stories of his dad. It was a great story that I highly recommend if you are sick of intensity and drama.

Imagine raising an orphaned bear cub, carefully reintroducing her to the wild, then being welcomed back, almost daily, to observe her wild world for more than 17 years. Imagine visiting her in her feeding spots, watching her with her mates and her young, peering into her den, and, over time, observing the lives of all the other wild bears in her territory and surrounding ones. That is what happened to Ben Kilham.

Very good book on Black bears
Revisado: 01-19-21
If you want to learn about black bear behavior this is your book! The author is really amazing in not letting the dogmas of science compromise his authentic experiences and observations over the years. His work is a real asset to who black bears really are.
