The practice of Surya Namaskara, or Sun Salutations, has been handed down for thousands of years by the enlightened sages of the Vedic yogic tradition. It is considered to be a complete sadana, or practice, unto itself, as it incorporates all the aspects of a wellrounded practice: asanas, balancing of pranic or vital energy through use of breath, also known as pranayama, and meditation.
