oh God, the narration...audible really needs to do a re-recording with Scott Brick. not only is the audio quality very indicative of early 2000's recording equipment, Larry himself is a robot. somehow I was able to just accept it and finish the book, but I'd rather have TikTok read it to me than Larry. di yourself a favor and turn the speed up and get it done with quicker

I've always liked John's perspective and insightful wisdom that he displays on his YouTube channel. not to mention what I've learned from him as far as gunplay. I was not disappointed in the least when he released this book.

There's a lot of wisdom in here. some of which you may have to reinterpret to fit your life, some you may have to disregard, as is expected.

While he does bring up his faith quite frequently, he doesn't do it in a way that feels like he's preaching or shoving it down my throat, which I appreciate as an agnostic. He uses it to describe his perspective or to elaborate a point, among other uses.

I'm really glad I decided to get this. the narrator's voice makes me picture Mattis speaking and it's cool to get his point of view and backstory of some historical events. I love seeing where his head is. He's the real life version of Captain Picard, and way more badass. love it and will be getting the hardback

honestly, this book is entirely skipable. reader is good, but honestly the story itself is...i wouldn't say bland, but close. you really glean nothing from the story except how he was tricked into building the weapon. that's about it.

listened for 5 hours straight the first day and didn't want to stop. great book to begin with, great production (as is the usual with star wars books) and the reader does a spectacular job.
