Historia
On a brisk autumn day, a 13-year-old boy stands on the shores of the gray Atlantic, near a silent amusement park and a fading ocean resort called the Alhambra. The past has driven Jack Sawyer here: His father is gone, his mother is dying, and the world no longer makes sense. But for Jack everything is about to change. For he has been chosen to make a journey back across America - and into another realm. One of the most influential and heralded works of fantasy ever written, The Talisman is an extraordinary novel of loyalty, awakening, terror, and mystery.

I was very impressed. The narrator was able to bring you into the world of Traveling Jack, his chum Richard, speedy, and the very memorable Wolf. This is one listen I kept at daily as it sucked me in. I look forward to the second book in the series.

A good book
Revisado: 08-08-22
I have been a fan of this series for a long time. I love the performance done by the narrator. And I love reading about the evil/hardships that Eve faces in each book. I will admit that I am hoping that the smut etc wont increase too much in later books. I feel it needs a good balance without detracting from the story and I feel it has been steadily increasing and taking away from the book. That is my only criticism.

I am super surprised that I had not made a review of this book yet. I have listened to each audiobook in the series. It is a very compelling story and you do feel for the the main character in this one. This in particular are three Odd Thomas Books in one. You see Odd getting into over the top situations which does keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat with his story. Definitely worth the listen, especially those who are fans of Dean Koontz and Odd Thomas.

Historia
Tesser, the dragon of life itself, is one of seven: Earth’s primordial draconic guardians, destined to oversee its development and safety. Species rose and fell, and 10,000 years ago...Tesser disappeared. The golden dragon woke up this morning, buried deep beneath the city of Boston, with no idea how he got there, and no idea how humanity grew so fast and learned so much while he was away. He is lost, a fish out of water. Where is the magic? He’s got a lot of catching up to do if he’s going to find his missing sister and stop an incursion of daemons from beyond the Veil.

An interesting take on dragons
Revisado: 04-04-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Tesser: A Dragon Among Us to be better than the print version?
I havent read the print version, but since the narrator was excellent. I would definitely recommend the audio version.
Have you listened to any of James Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
James Foster is excellent in being able to keep you drawn in, given the variety of characters in the story. He really helped Tesser display the majesty in being a dragon.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There are many laughable moments, and moments of wonder in the story.
Any additional comments?
This is a very interesting book – in the beginning you see a world where magic is fading.
A memorable moment is just after Tesser awakens, and saves a damsel in distress. He becomes a sort of hero, albeit homeless at the time.
He is also a dragon, and seemingly dragons help keep the world in a balance.
Good and evil is shown earlier in the book but I don’t want to go into details since I do not want to ruin the story for anyone.
We also see Tesser try to adapt to modern times, and meet many of the main characters (and a love interest) who help make the story be what it is.
There are some explicit scenes, and swearing throughout - so I wouldn’t recommend this book for the very young.
I will also mention this book was given to me from the author for an unbiased and honest review.

Surprisingly good
Revisado: 03-05-16
What did you love best about Return to Angel Hill?
It was a unique premise. Two psychics go to Angel Hill and find themselves tangled in with the unnatural and the bad. I just wish the ending gave us more answers on the big bad. But I don't want to ruin it for other readers. I'm glad the story had some originality to it.
Which character – as performed by James Foster – was your favorite?
Will Castleton was the main character and was portrayed very well by the narrator. I got sucked into the story. And for that to happen I need to have a good enough narrator to draw me in. I will say the beginning was a bit boring, but it definitely gets better. So anyone with concerns should just keep at it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a few moments of creepiness that I cant help but remember. But I honestly do not want to ruin any surprises to future readers.
Any additional comments?
Though I think it took me longer to review it than I should have taken, Im glad I finally listened and finished the audio. I will also say that this audio was gifted to me by the author for an unbiased review.

The first great war of Ovira is over, and the most hated king in centuries is dead, but his nephew still lives. However, Basen had nothing to do with the destructive war his uncle started. In fact it was his uncle who exiled him and his father to the territory of their enemies, where Basen's dreams of becoming a legendary mage now fade, as he must work all day just to eat. His only chance at regaining some semblance of the life he thought he would lead is to join an elite school that trains, houses, and feeds a thousand new young men and women each year.

A great first in a series
Revisado: 01-31-16
What did you love best about Kin of Kings (The Kin of Kings Book 1)?
I found that the storyline was really able to draw one in. This is the first audio book where I actually stopped listening to another previous audio book.. just so I could focus and finish this one. It drew me in THAT much. That is super rare and a first. Im already hoping that the second book will be released soon so that I can preorder it/ buy it. Since Ive already found myself absorbed into the story.
What did you like best about this story?
You really don't get an understanding on who is on which side until the very end of the book. Which makes you wanting for more. Once you see who is on what side. Then the other clues from the book start making sense. The other character histories will start making sense. I dont want to add more since I dont want to spoil this book for any other readers. But there are still questions. And you still want to see the unfolding of other character personalities - which is how this book leads you up to a future second book.
I will also add that the main characters in the story are very young - around 20 and under. But they act quite mature for their ages. They live together in dorm like settings. And they train their abilities at the academy. Their are two routes they can go through - the mage route and the warrior one.
What about Brad C. Wilcox’s performance did you like?
He was an excellent narrator and portrayed the main character (basin) very well and realistically.
Any additional comments?
The only thing in the book was even though basin had a tough upbringing - and you could really feel for the character - his worry for his father, the blossoming of his friendships at the academy, his unique talents and weaknesses. The annoying thing (for me) is that he is described as a prince charming. handsome and able to attract the ladies. That was more towards the end of the book though - and I found that that kind of made the character to become more generic to me.
I will also add that this book was gifted to me by the author - through audiobook blast.. for an honest and unbiased review.

Historia
Her blood is toxic to vampires. If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it's to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn't hurt either. Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents step in and save Aurora's life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter in Alaska. Basically she's a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job - by hand....

great beggining for a series
Revisado: 01-11-16
Where does Aurora Sky rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I find this to be a good teen audiobook. At some points I found the story to be predictable but the character development was pretty good.
Which character – as performed by Em Eldridge – was your favorite?
I believe Aurora was captured pretty well. She at times acted spoiled and bratty which annoyed me some - it was a side effect of her 'new job' I would say and the feels she gave of having her freedom (of going away for school) taken away. The narrator was able to capture her emotions pretty well.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I only listen to audiobooks when on the go - on the bus or on a lunch break. So it actually took me longer than expected. I also truly find this to be more of a teen book. So the youngins would probably appreciate it more than I did.

Very interesting read.
Revisado: 12-09-15
Who was your favorite character and why?
I really liked both the main characters - but preferred Jake over Tom. The two are stuck in a present where they are supposedly the last two who are not hooked up to some videogame - a place where all your dreams come too. Add in some creepyness that is following them and a mission to find lost loves. It makes a good story. Without spoiling too much the ending did fit but left me subtly disappointed as I just wanted more.
Have you listened to any of Matt Armstrong’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I think the narrator was excellent. He helped make it into a pleasurable listen.
