i really like the caracters and the soul healing progression of the series. It makes you feel like there are still people who care and are empathetic.

cannot stand the narator

Not as good as the original series

I love the original series and mostly like the next 3 including South Coast, seekers and smugglers. However this series does not appear as well thought through. It starts super slow and does not get far ahead by the end of the book. Lots of unnecessary details especially when talking about restaurant orders for 5 mins each time. All the previous books were on the short side but this one is short and no action. I believe it was rushed and could use more complete story after editing out non-meaningful parts.
Still considering buying next part but on the "may be" list overall.
Also, the same narrator sounds different somehow. Much more stiff at the beginning.

Feels forced and not exciting

The only reason I bought this book is to wrap up the series which II loved. This book, however, left me greatly disappointed. Not only it is 6 hrs long (which is ridiculous!!!), but the book itself is not exciting. The MC's who we loved all the previous books would all over a sudden become flat and boring, The plot is just "whatever". Feels like the writer was so sick of the series that he just wanted to finish at any cost.
As the series progressed, the books started to be broken in a random places and became shorter and shorter. Feels like the publishers took over and start directing the creative process to squeeze more money.

Some of the Fandorin mannerisms are not in charact

The performance is quite good, however some of the Fandorin's mannerisms, like little laughs are not in character.

The author needs to revisit the approach to character development. even of he decides to make an MC dumb, there should be limits which are reasonably believable. The book irritates me to the point that I am inclined to stop with the series as a whole. deeply disappointing!!

irritating

i like the series but this book seems unbalanced and irritating at so many levels. Lots of time spent on details and stupit banter but the actual plot developments are not been allocated any significant time. Very sad that the quality of the series goes downhill. Not sure if I will continue with the next books in the series.

Like the story/series but HATE the greed

There was absolutely no rime or reason to end the book at 7 hours and at the pretty random spot. I see it as a disrespect to the readers.
after following this series for 11 books, I feel offended when the publisher prioritize the money to the common sense and retention of the readers.
