Not for me
Revisado: 03-15-24
I read the reviews and had high hopes as I adore Austen novels. While the vocabulary was exquisite, the content was not. I only completed 3 hours and I deleted it. The narrator, while pleasant for the female characters, was overly dramatic and stuffy sounding for Darcy. I expected an innocent novel as were Austen’s, but after hearing about Darcy’s male appendages and every detail of how he & Lizzie made love, I had enough. Austen would roll over in her grave….

If you really want to know what’s happening in the world, this is the one book you must hear now. Alex Jones is the most censored man on the planet and you should ask yourself why that is. There is a powerful authoritarian takeover in process that is seeking to capture the entire human system and turn it into an artificial factory farm controlled system. We are in a war for the future of the world. In this book, you will hear from the world’s elites, from their own mouths, what they are planning for you and your families and you will learn what you can do to fight it.

I’ll buy the book. It’s like listening to the Tasmanian Devil narrate. I’m sure the book itself is excellent.

Connelly never disappoints
Revisado: 11-17-23
Great storyline, I love when the brothers work together! While not the most enthralling Connelly novel, it’s solid as always and kept me thoroughly entertained! I absolutely love Giles’ & Welliver’s narrations and I hope they stay on board with these characters into the future. Their tones and inflections bring to life the brothers’ opposite personalities.

If God is holy, then he can’t sin. If God can’t sin, then he can’t sin against you. If he can’t sin against you, shouldn’t that make him the most trustworthy being there is? Best-selling author Jackie Hill Perry, in her much anticipated follow-up to Gay Girl, Good God, helps us find the reason we don’t trust God - we misunderstand his holiness. In Holier Than Thou, Jackie walks us through Scripture, shaking the dust off of “holy” as we’ve come to know it and revealing it for what it really is: good news.

Thought provoking
Revisado: 11-01-23
I have read and listened to MANY Christian/ faith based books, the majority of which I felt were merely inspirational, lacking in depth. This book was not one of those. I skipped back so many times to replay sections over & over to grasp the theology, and sometimes the poetry, behind the words. This is by far the most intelligent Christian book I’ve encountered. It was easy to understand, but took a lot of thought to “digest”. Jackie did a beautiful job narrating, but I’d also recommend picking up a print copy, because I promise you’ll want to review parts of this book over again.

Wonderful narration - re recorded!
Revisado: 06-09-23
First of all, let me say that the narration is stellar. Apparently the original narration was redone by Jefferson Mays. He’s done a fantastic job in these novels and I hope will continue in the series!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was especially happy to see Pendergast’s character actually doing something heroic! While I’ve enjoyed the past few novels in this series, his character has grown stale. I miss the eccentricities and humor that made the character so amusing. Pendergast has gone from being a master of disguise, eating rat with the underground population, and fleeing from hospital beds to help solve cases, to sipping drinks with Constance and basically just being present in the storyline. I am really hoping as the series progresses, the authors will punch up his character again and make him into the Pendergast we all have grown to enjoy.

Revisado: 05-27-23
I absolutely love Jefferson Mays’ narration! I was not a fan of Auberjonois in this series, his voice was too aged for Pendergast. Aside from the narration, this was a gripping, exciting book and very well done. I’m excited to see how Coldmoon’s character will develop as the series continues.

Historia
After an overhaul of leadership at the FBI's New York field office, A. X. L. Pendergast is abruptly forced to accept an unthinkable condition of continued employment: the famously rogue agent must now work with a partner. Pendergast and his new teammate, junior agent Coldmoon, are assigned to Miami Beach, where a rash of killings by a bloodthirsty psychopath are distinguished by a confounding M.O.: cutting out the hearts of his victims and leaving them - along with cryptic handwritten letters - at local gravestones, unconnected save in one bizarre way.

Loved it!
Revisado: 02-26-23
This reminds me of the earlier Pendergast novels. Although there weren’t many eccentric antics that we’ve come to expect from the character, it was a solid story! I loved the addition of Coldmoon and it was also refreshing to have Constance out of the plot.
