Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

I was disappointed, it had potential. If they had landed the ending in a way that didn't feel like a Disney Channel Afternoon Special, it have had legs. The music too was off putting. music in audiobooks always throw me off the story.

Historia
Sister murdered, best friend dead, married to the patron saint of death, Santa Muerte. Necromancer Eric Carter's return to Los Angeles hasn't gone well, and it's about to get even worse. His link to the Aztec death goddess is changing his powers, changing him, and he's not sure how far it will go. He's starting to question his own sanity, wonder if he's losing his mind. No mean feat for a guy who talks to the dead on a regular basis.

I found the story so predictably upsetting it made me angry. I wish it had been better.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

A stand alone story about children with Shine...
Revisado: 06-27-20
When it comes to audiobooks, the voice actor is almost as important if not more so than the story itself. The voice actor of this book is absolutely brilliant. Kudos to Mr. Santino Fontana. This book is a nice digestible bite into the Stephen King universe. It's an easy read for new comers to the SK Mythos by not making decades worth of info a necessity to enjoy this book, but it gives you enough easter eggs to make life long SK fans smile secretly at the use of words such as "steam" or a throw away conversation about "a little New England town in which all their residents disappeared one day." Not truly a dark tower book, but dark tower adjacent, even less so than Insomnia. Truly enjoyable, and hopefully us avid Stephen King fans will see more of Luke Ellis and Tim Jamieson.
