Stormy Day is back on the case.... or well she's not really on the case but someone close to her does die. Stormy had been on the scene the day before in large fountain....but the spouse of the deceased says their death has been greatly exaggerated. Everyone around her warns her off the case and she just keeps getting in deeper.

This was a cozy journey of whodunits filled with queen bees, root beer floats, cheerleaders, more Dimples, casino adventures and everyone's favorite cat Jeffrey.

This is the fifth and final (for now?) adventure for Stormy Day. Tiffany Williams is always an amazing narrator / voice actress who brings the sparkle and the wit to our favorite redhdeaded PI and the wacky small town inhabitants she is surrounded by.

This was an entertaining series.

If you liked Stormy Day I would also suggest checking out Wisteria Witch Mysteries by the same author and narrator team.

The richest man in town dies but was it an unfortunate accident or was it murder? Stormy Day is on the case and working with a delightful cast of characters secrets are brought to light and everyone that deserves to gets a happy end.

Another mystery, more romance, a dash of comedy and small town charm. This is a fun cozy mystery. Tiffany Williams is always a joy to listen to. Looking forward to the final book.

After the events of the previous books, Zara’s life is in flux. Her dream home is no more. Her magic powers are broken. (Spoiler) is gone. Zoey is off to college. Zinnia is married (!) and taking care of her new baby. Everyone else’s life seems to be moving on without her.
So what is one to do? Find a new living situation and plant some veggies at the community garden.
We spend a lot of time with Zara as she processes everything that has happened, what she wants and where her future may lead her. We revisit old characters, say goodbye to a beloved pet and meet more lovely members of the community that will play larger parts in the story going forward (presumably)
This may sound melancholy but Zara’s inner monologue, Tiffany Williams shining performance and a dose of magic make this a journey and a new beginning. I can’t wait to see where the Riddle women take us next.

Disclaimer: Author is the friend of a friend which is how I heard about this novel. I haven't seen the author in nearly 20 years so I would like to think I am not very biased. (Connie, if you see this - sorry about the fish)

This is a witty, science fiction space faring adventure full of self depreciating humor, steamy romance and an interesting world. Firefly by way of Sam and Diane (I think I am dating myself) It was an entertaining quick read.

The narrator is excellent, voicing the characters and bringing life to the narration.

If romance and sci far are your jam - this will more than fit the bill.

This is the 15th book in the series and there are major spoilers for book 14. READ WAYWARD WISTERIA BEFORE THIS BOOK. 6 months have passed since the events of the book but all of the characters are still dealing with the aftermath in their own way.
This is the first book from Zirconia’s point of view and I am here for it. I am also sucker for time loop stories so this story had a madcap hilarity to it. Partway through the book it takes a serious turn and becomes something more of a sci fi thriller. Angela Pepper’s writing and specifically Zirconia voice shines through it and even when threats are dire the writing keeps things pretty light.
Speaking of voices Tiffany Williams does an amazing job of Zirconia (with appearances from the other Riddle women we know and love)
Due to the nature of the story we have limited characters in this book but Angela takes two side characters and makes them the stars for this misadventure.
Triggers: Grief, Time Loops (if you don’t like Groundhogs Day Loops this book may not be for you)

Below are my reviews of each book

His Last Wife

Thrills, Chills and Kills
Gia Pere writes a deft drama about a woman who meets a handsome actor and is whisked away for an exotic vacation / filming a low budget film with her love interest’s ex-wife and children in the middle of paradise.

I can give away nothing more than that because the book is face paced, full of twists, turns and even a murder. You will not be able to put this book down from start to finish and you will never guess what is coming next.

Pere’s characters spring to life from witty banter and the narrator Tiffany Williams puts in a stellar performance.

This is an enjoyable romp.

Her Sister's Friends

Real Estate, Revelry, Revelations and Regrets

Her Sister’s Friends is about a young girl who idolized her older sister’s friend group when she was eleven and they were in their late teens. She was the annoying kid sister that would tag along with their antics.
Jump forward a couple decades and she is now in her mid 30’s, dating the hunk of her sister’s friend group and is given a new challenge at work. She finds a great deal on a house to purchase, refurb and flip – however she is warned away from the house without explanation. When she visits she feels déjà vu – she has been there before but has no recollection. When she asks her sister or her friends they all resolutely deny having ever been there.
She stumbles upon physical evidence proving at least one of them had been there – but why lie about it? That is where the mystery really begins – who was there, why were they there, what happened that night and what will the fallout be even 24 years later?
The story is told in modern day (2021 recent with references to very current events) and in a series of flashbacks as little by little the truth is uncovered.
This is a psychological thriller – but the relationships between family and friends is the real heart of it. Gia Pere balances pathos with humor and heart. The story defies you to put it down. The story and its implications will stay with you.
I won’t spoil anything but there is discussion of sexuality (including teenage promiscuity), substance abuse and self harm. Almost all of these actions are “off screen” and it is never graphic nor insensitive in its depictions. If these are triggers I would suggest you stay away and try a lighter novel by Angela Pepper.
Tiffany Williams gives unique but recognizable voices to characters young and old. She is always a delight to listen to.
This was an interesting book to listen to and I could definitely see value in re-reading it with knowledge of what happens to pick up on previous hints/clues and just to spend more time with these 3 dimensional characters.

This is a sequel to the Undisputed Dr. Fizz. I suggest reading that book first but the events of the first book are explained at the beginning to serve a a refresher or bring new readers up to speed.

Dave is now a real super hero! but what does that mean for his life? He has the girl and the powers but for how long? Heady from his recent victory he fights a poser villain and everything goes wrong. Now he struggles with what exactly his powers are and how to use them. How does one balance a job, a love life and fighting evil?

This book picks up from the origin story and moves right into learning the ropes of being a hero as well as the great struggle - to embrace the power and responsibility or to hang up the proverbial cape and ride into the sunset. Will Dave fizzle out?

The ensemble cast established in the first book are further developed and you can see solid world building without sacrificing the humor and humanity of Cole's characters.

There are further twists and reveals. I hope we have a lot more fizz in our future. If you enjoy superheroics and comedy with a sizzle of romance - look no further.

Baltz breathes life and energy into the tale, weaving between character voices and effervescent narration.

Come along - you belong. Feel the fizz!

This is a standalone short story that stand on its own (but I understand these characters could appear in Wisteria Witch Mysteries)

There are literal fireworks going off as Zeb discovers she is a witch. Watch out for sparks and ill advised romance.

Hilarious but there is a little hanky panky (mostly of the fade to black variety)

Tiffany Williams bring the characters to life

Everyone is still reeling from the events of the last book. When Zoey starts dating the new bad boy in school it's not the end of the world.... or is it?

Zara does not approve of her daughter's new beau and tries to magic her way out of it with hilariously disastrous results.

Book 14 in the Wisteria Witch Mysteries is full of the humor, heart and adventure you have come to know any love - with big emotions near the end. Have tissues nearby.

Tiffany Williams does her usual tremendous job bringing characters to life and narrating another wonderful novel.

I need the next book as soon as possible.

Although this says book 3 of the Heroes of Grand City - you can jump (or leap) into this book without any issues. It stands on its own and no prior knowledge is needed although there is a passing reference to the events of The Undisputed Dr Fizz.

This book is a quick, light read about a down on his luck super hero that accidently outs his own secret identity and gets dumped by his girlfriend. We also get a few villain origin stories with varying motivations. The humor lands and the characters a more than tropes. They feel real and have some surprising turns. You will never guess how the climax ends.

Any fan of superheroes will find something to enjoy - and hopefully the promise of many more adventures to come.

The narrator Joseph Baltz continues his energetic voice acting keeping this tale moving even when the hero feels like hanging up his boots. He gives voice to the various characters and elevates the action.
