Historia
As a photographer, Delta Dawn observes the seemingly perfect lives of New York City’s elite: snapping photos of their children’s birthday parties, transforming images of stiff hugs and tearstained faces into visions of pure joy, and creating moments these parents long for. But when Delta is hired for Natalie Straub’s 11th birthday, she finds herself wishing she wasn’t behind the lens but a part of the scene - in the Straub family’s gorgeous home and elegant life.

A Must for Your Summer Reading List
Revisado: 06-03-21
I felt like I was following alongside Delta as she described each character and scene with such vivid and remarkable detail. She zooms in on the seemingly flawless characters and their architecturally stunning homes, all while casting the slightest shadows on their flaws. Delta is such a complicated character and you can't love her or hate her, which makes her all the more alluring. I was captivated by every twist and turn and this book kept me on edge to the very end. I couldn't put this book down.

Historia
Our narrator should be happy, shouldn't she? She's young, thin, pretty, a recent Columbia graduate; she works an easy job at a hip art gallery and lives in an apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan paid for, like the rest of her needs, by her inheritance. But there is a dark and vacuous hole in her heart, and it isn't just the loss of her parents, or the way her Wall Street boyfriend treats her, or her sadomasochistic relationship with her best friend, Reva. It's the year 2000 in a city aglitter with wealth and possibility; what could be so terribly wrong?

Ugh

This is the Winona Ryder of books. Depressing, soulless and daunting. Forget the money, I want my wasted time back.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Captivating and beautiful.
Revisado: 06-26-19
I found myself listening to chapters twice because they were so beautifully written. The author transports you to the marshes and you are captivated by the smallest of details. The characters are rich and colorful and keep you wanting more. I did not want this book to end.
