Historia
Retired lawyer Andy Carpenter remembers every dog that’s come through the Tara Foundation’s doors, but the most well-known alum of the dog rescue organization that Andy founded in Paterson, New Jersey, may be Mamie. Adopted by famous actress Jenny Nichols—Andy’s high school girlfriend—the miniature French poodle is now practically a starlet in her own right. Andy doesn’t hold it against his friend. In fact, he and his wife, Laurie, have dinner with Jenny while she’s in town filming her next big hit. But after an eventful meal, there’s a plot twist the next morning that none of them see coming.

Narrator is fabulous but the story is formulaic.

Roosevelt keeps writing the same script. His early books were original, funny, and surprising. The characters were si well developed with wonderful idiosyncrasies. Now he doesn’t even include his son anymore and briefly mentions the other characters. Boring and predictable p. Roosevelt has become a lazy author.

Historia
Carpenter Whitney Whitaker and her cousin Buck are looking once again to rehab and resell a house, only this particular house is made of fiberglass, floats, and has been dubbed the Skinny Dipper. The old houseboat sure could use some work, but the unusual project has Whitney bubbling with excitement. The charming and handsome Grant Hardisty lives on the cabin cruiser in the adjacent slip, but the cousins soon learn he's left a half dozen angry ex-wives in his wake and made enemies of all sorts of unsavory folks.

Excellent plot.

Just great writing with no obvious killer until the end. No idiotic sex scenes and no foul language. Just intelligent interesting writing with great narration. Far above most mystery writers..

Historia
In the small Florida town of Seabrook, a young lawyer named Keith Russo was shot dead at his desk as he worked late one night. The killer left no clues. There were no witnesses, no one with a motive. But the police soon came to suspect Quincy Miller, a young Black man who was once a client of Russo’s.

At last a great novel
Revisado: 10-24-19
The earlier books Grisham wrote were magnificent: The Firm, A Time to Kill, The Testament, Skipping Christmas, The Pelican Brief, The Client, The Rainmaker. I also liked the Theodore Boone books. But many of the books written in the past two decades were ordinary and formulaic. Disappointing. One was even depressing, pointless and hopeless (A Painted House.) With The Guardians; Grisham has evoked his great talent one again. This one is dazzling.
