Historia
At the age of 30, Robin is an Earl at last - but not the Earl of Waringham, the ancestral title that he still hopes to win back one day from the evil Mortimer. England has seen other changes too: Edward III is dead and his successor, the boy king Richard II, is at odds with his uncle, the Duke of Lancaster. The introduction of a hated new poll tax brings about one of the most dangerous episodes in English history and Robin finds himself embroiled in the Peasants’ Revolt.

Historia
March, 1815. The Bourbon King Louis XVIII has been restored to the throne of France, Napoleon is in exile on the isle of Elba, and Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, and his wife, Hero, have traveled to Paris in hopes of tracing his long-lost mother, Sophie, the errant Countess of Hendon. But his search ends in tragedy when he comes upon the dying Countess in the wasteland at the tip of the Île de la Cité. Stabbed—apparently with a stiletto—and thrown from the bastions of the island's ancient stone bridge, Sophie dies without naming her murderer.

Historia
In 1944, British bomber pilot Hugo Langley parachuted from his stricken plane into the verdant fields of German-occupied Tuscany. Badly wounded, he found refuge in a ruined monastery and in the arms of Sofia Bartoli. But the love that kindled between them was shaken by an irreversible betrayal. Nearly 30 years later, Hugo's estranged daughter, Joanna, has returned home to the English countryside to arrange her father's funeral. Among his personal effects is an unopened letter addressed to Sofia. In it is a startling revelation.

The female narrator's "Italian" accent is more like a caricature of a Romanian vampire. I kept expecting someone to say "I vant to suck your blood."
The story is ok though, albeit predictable.

Repetitive and predictable
Revisado: 08-06-18
I had high hopes for this one. I love a cozy mystery, a good dram, and Scotland. This should have ticked all those boxes. The protagonist is annoying, and typical of the damaged characters who masquerade as "strong female characters." You can be strong and independent without being rude, untrusting, and cold, and without reminding everyone you're a woman every time you receive a slight (real or imaginary) - trust me Abby, there are other reasons not to like you. The story itself slogs through the same ground too many times to be suspenseful in anyway. Finally, the narrator needs to sort out her accents. She wasn't horrible, but I'm sure there are much better. I probably won't continue the series.

Historia
Rome, August AD 89. Flavia Albia, the daughter of Marcus Didius Falco, has taken up her father's former profession as an informer. On a typical day, it's small cases - cheating spouses, employees dipping into the till - but this isn't a typical day. Her beloved, the plebeian Manlius Faustus, has recently moved in and decided that they should get married in a big, showy ceremony as part of beginning a proper domestic life together.

Horrible narration
Revisado: 08-01-16
This is the 4th Flavia Albia book, and we're on the 3rd narrator. I liked Lucy Brown. The second one was fine. I thought they both created a voice for Albia. But Sarah Feathers is truly awful. She is stilted, and so hard to listen to that I can't follow the story. Pick ONE (not Sarah Feathers) and stick with her!
