weir is back, telling a galactic tail in first person narrative as he does best! science rules, and brutal physics drools. Almost better the the martian but we all know nothing will ever be that good again. Sorry Andy, you gave us your best work first!

well always entertaining Nick Saban's philosophy is much more than just simply interview quotes. this book provides no synthesis or analysis of savings philosophy on leadership or his approach to management.

What made the experience of listening to The Bully Pulpit the most enjoyable?

This is a work from a true historian, who honestly explored the dimensions of her subjects, good and bad, and let the record speak for itself.

What did you like best about this story?

The depth of relationships, connections of events with personalities, and honesty in presenting motives where discernable, is fantastic!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys mythical leaders without exploriing their real history, actions, decisions, and bigotries.

Has Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power turned you off from other books in this genre?

This book made me realize Meachum is one of the greatest southern apologists alive today. He glosses over Jefferson's rape of a 14 year old girl as an unfortunate product of his time. BS! Most people of that time, including the French people, where he raped a 14 year old Sally Hemmings, called it what it was. And this is just one area Meachum excuses.

What about Edward Herrmann and Jon Meacham ’s performance did you like?

Herrmann was fantastic at reading the material, making the pablum Meachum dished out at least tolerable.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This book is dishonest. Meachum not only glossed over the rape of a 14 year old girl, he denied Jefferson's treason with the French Ambassedor, saying "I was not Secretary of State when I discussed (treason), I was Mr. Jefferson." There is no lense where this is not treason. He denied the acromony Washington had for him, and that Jefferson had for Washington. This is a reader's digest version of history, appropriate to tell children. It is myth-making, not history. This book disgusted me.

Any additional comments?

Like Andrew Jackson's war crimes against Native Americans, Meachum glosses over these characters that are not isolated flaws but rather defining characteristics of Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Jackson. These are not good men. They are aristocrats seeking the continued enslavement of people. Drop the mike.
