Sinusoidal Waves of Action in this Installment that Keeps Your Heart Racing!
Revisado: 05-21-24
Many threads are resolved as the climax of Jake Everton's journey in facing his destiny reaches its height! Oh, but surprises await as to how the journey unfolds, not only for Jake and his friends but all of man and magic-kind. This book has it all: action, drama, love, sadness, fear, loneliness, empathy, and uncertainty. Every detail of the setting and pertinent background of the character is shared to encapsulate the essence of the moment, so that you are invested into the story and enamored at the next stunt that the kids pull off or at the tricks Wyvern unleashes onto the Order. This installment is beautifully crafted, not only to deliver the outcome of the war, but also to lead into a new world with a sense of new beginnings, opportunities and growth. The excitement and driving momentum of the story could not have been enhanced any better than with Narrator Jake Benson at the helm. Benson is truly a master of voices, and now evident as a master singer as well! As a long- standing fan of the Gryphon Chronicles, this book is by far the best yet - both thrilling, thought-provoking and imaginative. I am highly confident readers will utterly love reading this book! I did!!!!

Historia
Three months ago, the horrible news that the Dark Druids captured his beloved pet Gryphon sent thirteen-year-old Jake Everton reeling—especially since he knows he’s the one the warlock brotherhood really wants. It’s a trap, and poor Red is just the bait. Well aware of the threat, the Elders have forbidden the daring boy hero from taking any action to rescue his faithful companion. Instead, Jake and his friends must cool their heels at the Order’s palace headquarters, where they’ll be “safe.”

Cue the Dark and the Sinister!
Revisado: 01-21-24
Immediately immersied into the minds of the Dark and Sinister, this installment sets the tone, weight and intensity of the conflict that lies ahead for Jake and his friends. Feelings of dread, uncertainty, and angst were felt in waves throughout this book that I had to remind myself to breathe! Like in a high-stakes poker table, cards are dealt and formulated in prep for something grand. Evil is showing us their hand, and the journey is wonderfully crafted! I attribute this masterful build not only to the authors of The Black Fortress, but to the new audio narrator, Jake Benson! Jake's clear and perceptive tones, inflections, and tempo beautifully elevated the story's appeal. I was amazed at the many distinct voices Jake Benson created, and to my mind, captured the essence of the characters remarkably well. I look forward to future audiobooks with Jake Benson at the helm!

Emotional and a Thrilling Ride!
Revisado: 07-23-23
Buckle up for an action-packed thrill ride as this latest installment, The Sorcerer’s Army, breaks barriers of what you have perceived to know and love about your favorite characters thus far. Faced with grief, loss and war, many character friendships, relationships and alliances are challenged and flipped on its head! And with that, many event twists in the story and the actions of our beloved characters will surprise you and leave you writhing in anticipation, seizing with excitement, or exasperated in disapproval. Just when you think Jake and his friends could do no worse, they find a new low. The trials and tribulations of the teenage years are truly front-and-center in this book. E.G. Foley has masterfully woven adolescence into this time of utter world despair and darkness, and thus created a product that is relatable, emotional, and gripping. You are invited to experience the conflicts in new places, and there are many! Characters outside of Jake’s crew are given more depth and new ones “come into the dark” that offer more weight into the direness of what is to come. You are left at the end of this book seeking more, aware that there is more to unfold, issues to resolve, and an evil even more unnatural, yet to face.
An element to this book’s intrigue is how the narrator, Jake Benson, remarkably captured the personalities of the many characters in this book with his distinct voice interpretations. At the very start, you are accelerated into a world that is broken, and the despair is felt through Benson’s crisp and low tones. Throughout the book, Benson’s dramatic pauses, sound effects and crescendos provided much entertainment. After coming into the series in the later installments with readers having their own pre-existing “sound-sense” of the characters, Jake amazingly portrayed such creativity and understanding of the characters. This book broadened many character profiles and described new places. From all-out shouting matches to passionate speeches, many emotions of people and creatures were conveyed; no doubt a challenging feat to overcome. Jake delivered beautifully.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the dynamics and cadence of this book's fast and dark tempo. I look forward to the next installment!

Sinister & Riveting ‐ You Will Not Stop Listening!
Revisado: 11-22-22
Having read and listened to the Gryphon Chronicles from its inception, Book 7 Dragon Lord has unveiled itself to be a formidable installment, not only for its detailed character development and world-building imagery, dragons, exciting battle scenes, surprises and plot twists, but for its masterfully-crafted narration, of which, in my mind, elevated the book's intrigue and intensity!
Enamored with the many distinct voices, sounds and creative effects, I found myself immersed in the story and its characters. Just when you think you can imagine Jake's world of adventures, the narrator, Jake Benson, leads you deeper into the experience; the story that much more real and relatable. Jake Benson nailed every character with his interpretations coming into this universe at Book 7. The fact that Jake Benson shares the same first name as the main character just affirms a perfect union of story and narration!
E.G. Foley has done a superb job in accelerating Jake's adventures to a whole new level with higher stakes, challenging Jake's level of maturity in making tough decisions and that of his friends. Their world is in chaos filled with tragedy, dread (and dragons)! Darkness against the Light. New characters are introduced and minor ones enter into the fray, shaping the story arc into something new, fresh and quite creative! This audiobook leaves you wanting more in so many levels, so I look forward to the next listen, Book 8 Sorcerer's Army!
