Two in a Row!
Revisado: 09-10-05
Ray's second book is as good as his first. His light humor and realistic characters keep the story moving as they date, hopscotch and have adventures. Couldn't put it down!

Historia
Churches outnumber bars 20 to 1 in Greenville, South Carolina, so that's where new-in-town stock broker Jay Jarvis sets out to meet women. New in town, young and successful, Jay figures the best way to meet girls is to sit in a pew! What he finds is a beautiful, unusual missionary with a wild throwing arm and a warped sense of humor. She and her wacky assortment of friends turn Jay's perceptions of life upside down, beginning a roller-coaster ride of events.

Real People who are Christians
Revisado: 09-04-05
I'm not usually a fan of Christian writings, with only a few notable exceptions. So, when a friend recommended Ray's books to me, I still didn't read them, even after meeting the author. (He's a really nice guy by the way.) Recently, I was looking for a new read and remembered her advice. Grabbed a copy of Flabbergasted and couldn't put it down. I bought the remainder of the trilogy the next day. Ray's three novels are unique in the Christian world of literature not becuase his characters do things, but because they are real people who are also Christians. So many Christian authors write stories about Super Christians who are going through a trial of some sort. I recognized these people as REAL, real lives, real jobs and Christians too. Christians of varying degrees, new and old. I hope other Christian authors take their signals from Ray and start writing about real characters too.
