Historia
It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, and Charlotte and Seth are not looking for romance. Armed with emotional-support bear spray, Charlotte is in self-imposed isolation and on guard from men. Having a stalker can do that to a person’s nerves. Just across the hall and giving off woodsy vibes is Seth, a recently divorced arborist. As in today recently. Heights, he’s fine with. Trust? Not so much.

Love it!

I laughed, I cried, I swooned. I identified so much with Charlotte and like her I’m happy I found my Seth. Abby really did her research. I want more!

Tear jerker with a sweet ending
Revisado: 11-27-24
I loved this story! Izzy finding love was so great. I loved Noah’s character. I honestly teared up towards the end with Izzy’s grandmother. This story in particular I could really picture like a tv series. I love this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

As a former foster child, this was frustrating.

Historia
As winter descends on the coastal town of Port Agnes, midwife Toni Samuels’ mood is as dark as the winter clouds that roll in. Toni loves her job as a midwife, but her private life is falling apart. Because Toni is keeping a secret - a relationship with fellow male midwife Bobby that no one can ever know about. Kind and gorgeous, Bobby is a huge hit at the midwifery centre, but he’s tired of keeping his feelings for Toni a secret - of always coming second best.

I enjoy the Cornish midwife series. I think it would be great as a show. Sometimes I feel like I lose track of all the different characters though. Overall I enjoyed this story. Toni and Bobby are adorable.

And he wants to give her a house. Gabby doesn’t want the house—or him. But she could use the money. So Gabby agrees to take it under two conditions: First, she can sell the house whenever she wants. Second, accepting it doesn’t mean she accepts him.

Heartwarming
Revisado: 02-24-24
It was a heartwarming story. Yes are there some predictable tropes? Sure, but it doesn’t take away from the overall story. The performance was great. I loved how immersed it felt and I wish I could visit Sonrisa in real life!

I enjoyed the book but i was expecting it to be more from Ella’s perspective. Probably my fault for not reading the synopsis. Also please be aware there can be some triggers for those struggling with having a baby. Overall cute story.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Cute story, great twist on a simple trope
Revisado: 12-05-23
Loved this book. I read The Comeback first and then this one. I love the depth Lilly Chu is able to bring to the characters. So much background and levels including mental health, gender issues, cultural dilemmas, and the romance! I think Phillipa Soo is amazing as the narrator. She brings such a down to earth tone to Gracie. She was able to give a clear personality to all of the characters. I felt like I was watching a movie in my head. Highly recommend all of Lilly Chu’s books and I want more from Phillipa Soo.
