Historia
Psychologist and winter expert Kari Leibowitz’s galvanizing HOW TO WINTER uses mindset science to help listeners embrace winter as a season to be enjoyed, not endured—and in turn, learn powerful lessons that can impact our mental wellbeing throughout the year. Kari Leibowitz moved above the Arctic Circle—where the sun doesn’t rise for two months each winter—expecting to research the season’s negative effects on mental health, only to find that inhabitants actually looked forward to it with delight and enthusiasm.

This book is life changing
Revisado: 11-07-24
I loved this book. The author was a great narrator, sharing intriguing insights and playful stories in an engaging, understandable way. The lessons taught will stick with me for a long time. Honestly, this book isn’t just about winter - it’s about everything. It’s a hugely helpful guide to using your mindset to change your everyday experience, whether it’s cold and dark, or warm and sunny. I can’t recommend it more highly!

Funny, real, important
Revisado: 01-16-21
I am a big Amber Ruffin fan and now I’m a big Lacey Lamar fan! This book was enjoyable to listen to, which seems strange to write since its stories are truly awful. Amber and Lacey bring important, ridiculously racist stories to light in an often-humorous way. I loved it and I love them and racism sucks and is everywhere.

Wonderful escape!

I loved getting whisked away to New York City old and new in this book. The story is compelling and engaging - I was excited every time I had a free minute to press play. The narrator’s smooth voice told the story perfectly. Such a nice escape in these crazy times!

Started listening again as soon as I finished!
Revisado: 06-19-20
This book was phenomenal. I cannot recommend it enough and I can’t wait for the next one. I’ve listened to it three times already. The story is addicting - I’d sit in my car and be late to things just because I couldn’t stop listening. The voice acting is incredible and Kristen Sieh is my new favorite narrator. She brings so much personality and life to
April May while still differentiating the voices of other characters in easy to recognize ways. Just everything about this book is a masterpiece and it’s going to be one I reread and relisten to over and over and over again.

Astonishingly beautiful
Revisado: 12-16-18
I was nervous about this book because I didn’t want to be too drawn in to the atrocities of the Syrian civil war. And yes, parts of the story are horrifying, just like war. But so much of it is incredibly beautiful and meaningful. The author weaves the story of a young refugee girl with the story of a heroine on a quest to map the world. The way the two stories are woven together helps one absorb the horrible parts in their entirety while allowing one to also be captured by the book’s magic. I can not recommend this enough.

I am so sad this book is over! What an amazing story of love and loss and strength and mystery. It’s a bit slow to start, but after I finished the first chapter, I was hooked and listened nonstop. If you’re considering listening to this, just do it. You won’t regret it.

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Do not hesitate-- listen to this audiobook!
Revisado: 07-20-11
I was already a big fan of Tina Fey, but now I've developed a severe crush. The book is wonderful, hysterical, heart warming, and just downright enjoyable. The audiobook made the experience even better. Listening to Fey's voice read the words she's written added an aspect to the entire experience that I would highly recommend to everyone. Fey clearly writes in a certain style, and small nuances could easily be missed if one chooses to read the book instead of listen to her narrate. I highly recommend reading this fantastic book and I even more highly recommend listening to Fey narrate it.
