Historia
The city of Celum is not much like Liscor at all. While Erin is surrounded by familiar, human faces, she’s far from home and without her inn. At the same time, a certain ill-tempered Lyonette is squatting in Erin’s inn, and Goblins are on the move. The Goblin Lord’s threat reaches across the entire region, and the Redfang tribe has rallied against him with the Floodplains tribe, although their Chieftains do not agree on some crucial matters. This winter, there is only snow, Goblins, magic, and iambic pentameter.

Revisado: 05-16-21
Because I did not want it to end! The newly introduced character's are incredibly promising.
Our time is divided between other characters besides Erin and Rioka, but I never felt it as wasted time. I want to know about everyone and everything in this world. Just keeps getting better and better.
One of the best series I have read, and almost surely the most promising. Great job to the author and narrator.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Amazing!!!
Revisado: 05-16-21
I will keep this short... I just finished book 3 of this series, and it just keeps getting better
Keep in mind the Author is already somewhere around book 7, so theres a lot more of this world to see..
Yes, it might be slow, and yes, the MC might be annoying at the start.. BUT, this is honestly one of the best series I have ever read. It has so many good things. The pacing might be slow at times, but we are discovering a whole new world, city by city, continent by continent. I hope the author continues this series forever!
STORY, PERFORMANCE, ALL 5/5 10/10 -- Please keep the same narrator, and please keep publising them as fast as you can!
Much love for this dynamic duo, PIRATEABA & ANDREA PARSNEAU

Historia
Vainqueur Knightsbane is your average dragon: A giant, fire-breathing lizard who loves to take naps on his golden hoard, kidnap princesses for fun, and make the life of adventurers miserable. Vainqueur's only pleasure in life is to watch his treasure get bigger, one coin at a time. So when a would-be thief turned unwilling minion tells him about "classes", "levels", and "quests", Vainqueur wonders if maybe, just maybe, he should consider a career change. After all, why bother hunting monsters for free when you can get paid for it?

Lost potential
Revisado: 06-18-20
I mostly enjoyed the book. It's an original take on a popular theme. Below a simple overview of the good and the bad;
+ The humoris good, it's funny
+ Vainqueur is OP, which I love (and he damn well knows it)
+ He has adorable minions
- It get's a bit tedious after a while, more of the same.
- The low rating for 'performance' is because of the faulty recording. They forgot to put in the 'dragon voice effect' during some of the dialogues. It's distracting and sloppy.
I feel if more work was done to better develop a story, and to actually listen to the finished product, I would have been able to give this a better review

Historia
A quirky English chap with a taste for fine scotch, Dr. Phineas Templeton builds a time machine at the behest of his mysterious benefactor. His mission? To meet Jesus Christ Himself, and garner all of the fame, recognition, and accolades that writing an epic time travelogue would bring. Unfortunately for Finny, Jesus is actually a fellow time traveler, a hippie named Trent from Colorado in the future. While Trent explains that the past is fixed and immutable, Dr. Templeton realizes that he's made a horrible oversight in his calculations, and can't return to his own time period.

Everything I hoped for
Revisado: 07-28-19
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review
Hi, welcome!
I'll start off by saying the following; The title of the book is perfect. Though not as much about Jesus as I initially thought. It does make clear the very nature of the book. A ridiculous and fun journey! It's filled with (of course) time travel, snarky comments, witty remarks, adventure, romance, loss, sorrow, redemption, hope, and a lot of sarcasm.
The narration was excellent and fit the story very well.
In some cases I like to tell more about the plot and characters. In this case I will refrain from that.
It's a short book, there might be a second one, but to it is good enough all by itself. So, I'll get right to my recommendation;
You should give this a try if you're looking for; A fun science fiction story with short action scenes, excitement, and a lot of banter in conversations. A story where the main characters travel through time, meet famous people, all while traversing a well laid out plot.
You should not give this a try if; You thought this was about JC himself travelling through time and space saving the poor, the blind and the sick (it's not).

A tad slow, expected something different
Revisado: 07-23-19
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review
Unfortunately the book did not meet my expectations, and was therefore let down a bit. Nevertheless, there are good reviews, so do not let it throw you off too much.
Main reason I disliked the book;
The key points sparking my interest were the referral to; philosophy, aliens, and that the book deals with fundamental questions concerning humankind. However, I did not find the book provoking such thoughts. Everything going on was kept slow-going and there weren't really any interesting turning points. I also didn't feel any thriller elements. I think I might have 'missed' the whole ambiance the book set out to achieve, so that would be partly my bad as well.
Lastly, I did not like the narration that much when he did the 'AI' voices.
Conclusion; Honestly it feels a little as if the blurb/key words were a little misleading.

NOT A REVIEW
This is not a review so much as it is a confirmation for people reading this series to purchase this installment as well. If you liked the first two books, OP MC, and are not afraid of some ruthlessness, buy it. Even if you don't like this things, buy it! Support this author :D
This is the third book in The Idle System series. While I thoroughly enjoy the first two books, the third one takes another direction. It focuses a bit more on developing the characters and is a bit more 'storytelling' with the main focus on setting up a life for the now two main characters. I was a bit disappointed halfway through the book because of the pacing, but now that I finished it, I cant wait for the next one! - This is an important factor to me; If a book makes you all excited for the next one, it did its job!
Narration is fitting for the book. At times the narrator seems like he is exaggerating things a bit too much, but to me, it agrees with the style of the book. May take about half an hour or so to get used to it, but I came to appreciate it.
Warning ** Contains SPOILERS in next section ** ** SPOILER ALERT ** SPOILERS BELOW **
During the final part of the book, John gains the titel of 'Demon'. While I read some reviews mentioning this as a negative point, and questioning how we are supposed to like John after this transformation, I disagree. John is himself, always. He is as friendly as he is ruthless, this is all part of his character. He never refrained from killing, not back on Earth and not now that he has become a total badass.
To the author ; Honestly, I LOVE OP characters. They sometimes show up in books and such as 'side' characters, but almost never as the main character. John is OP, not the strongest (yet) but extremely powerful and clever in his execution. I enjoy the character you created, and the direction you took it. Thank you, you did an amazing job. I bought the first 2 paperback, but will continue this series on audio. Once again, well played!

Simple, Predictable, Entertaining
Revisado: 01-08-19
TLDR Version: Entertaining, action packed, comparable to a good action movie. I would classify this as an 'inbetweener' for when you are in need of a solid, good and high testosterone level book as a break from the longer/slower books.
Definitely worth it.
General:
A lot of people criticize this book because it is simple and predictable. The main character always wins and lady luck is his biggest fan. To me, this is not a bad thing. I read/listen to a lot of books, a lot! Just as with movies and tv-shows, you don't always need a moral guide woven into artful poetry. Sometimes, you just need a good action flick to get the blood pumping. This is just that. If you are looking for an epic fantasy/litrpg masterpiece, book 1 will not offer you that. In return though, it is very entertaining, and I wasn't bored for a moment.
Narration:
Armen Taylor gives a solid performance. His rough, cool, I don't give a fump voice suits the style of the main character and the book itself. I haven't listened to any of his previous work before but I know he narrated Viridian Gate, and his performance might push me over the edge to purchase the first book.
Characters: The main character, Finn, is a real bad-ass and it seems the other reviewers agree with me on this one. I like the way he was written, he might be new, but he's not stupid, brave up to the point of careless, but he gets the job done. Personally this kind of character is one of my favorites. I prefer the slightly arrogant, cool, but ultimately successful characters. Honestly, the other characters were mostly fillers as I have seem to have forgotten about them already.
Conclusion; Ignore the ranting and people criticizing the book for not being 'real' enough or complaining about the main character being too lucky etc. etc. .. It is a book, it does what it needs to do in this case, which is provide a high level of entertainment for it's readers.

great science fiction right here!
Revisado: 12-09-18
After my 2nd time going through this I thought I'd write a short review..
So I was recently wondering what book to get and didn't have much time so I thought I'd re-listen this one. After about 3 hours in I found a new book but was hesitant to put this away.
A futuristic science fiction novel which spans over several thousand years. The book mostly reminds me of my favourite (serious) science fiction novel to this point ; The Three Body Problem.
The book switches viewpoint between 2 major groups and how they struggle to develop over time, meaning several thousand years. It's written in a way the reader can really connect with both groups and follow their character development. Very well written and the narration was precise, perfectly matching the setting and tone of the book.
I can't say too much about any point in the book out of fear for spoiling anything. Try not to fall asleep during this one though because some of the smaller details come back with major impacts.
Definitely worth buying/spending a credit on!

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 12-06-18
Unfortunately I did not like this book. I was initially interested due to the self proclaimed greatest thief and of course one of my favorite narrators; Luke Daniels. I am not saying the book was bad, it just did not meet any of my expectations and it was a bit of a struggle to finish it.
The main characters are a bit too weak for my taste, and the thief is more of a charlatan than an actual thief. I found the chemistry between the main characters lacking, with little to no real development. I am just not a fan of silly characters without anything real going for them, and this was most certainly silly in a wrong way.
On another note, I normally absolutely adore Luke Daniels. In this book however, I found his choice of voicing the characters rough and severely overdone.
Seeing as many other people thoroughly enjoyed this book, maybe don't take my word for it, but try to listen to the sample yourself, or pick it up and give it a try.

Second book is just as great as the first one if not better. had been looking forward to it for quite a while and I went through it in 3 days.
The story not only continues but intensifies with more real life moments. They add to the story evolving it from a litrpg to a David vs Goliath story. My compliments to the author and of course Jeff for this great audiobook.
