Historia
In God's Battalions, award-winning author Rodney Stark takes on the long-held view that the Crusades were the first round of European colonialism, conducted for land, loot, and converts by barbarian Christians who victimized the cultivated Muslims. To the contrary, Stark argues that the Crusades were the first military response to unwarranted Muslim terrorist aggression.

Accurate depiction
Revisado: 06-20-22
Such a joy to have an accurate depiction was so many important battles. Unfortunately we’re told that the first crusade was a victory and the remaining six, were failures. It is not easy to find many books with the correct history as far as we know it. When one sultan breaks to European army of all the beheading and enslavement of children, that pretty much told you I need to know.

You think you know about Islam. But, did you know that Islam teaches that Muslims must wage war to impose Islamic law on non-Muslim states, or that American Muslim groups are engaged in a huge cover-up of Islamic doctrine? These and other "politically incorrect" facts are revealed by Robert Spencer in The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades).

Where are they now
Revisado: 06-10-22
I find the movie is fascinating. If they were such a learning people, why were they banished to begin with. It’s obvious they were interested in acclamation rather utter domination. Between one group ,tribe, clan or another this is still happening today in the 21st-century

Historia
Out of Darkness, Shining Light is the captivating story of the loyal men and women who carried explorer and missionary Dr. Livingstone's body, his papers, and maps, 1,500 miles across the continent of Africa, so his remains could be returned home to England and his work preserved there. Narrated by Halima, the doctor's sharp-tongued cook, and Jacob Wainwright, a rigidly pious freed slave, this is a story that encompasses all of the hypocrisy of slavery and colonization - the hypocrisy at the core of the human heart - while celebrating resilience, loyalty, and love.

Slow paced
Revisado: 06-08-22
Extremely slow paced, I understand it was a view from the African perspective. But what it really showed as what the Muslim slave traders did a real number of those Africans.
Without accepting, and living by the words of Christianity entire continent will remain in the 16th century.

Historia
"Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" So goes the signature introduction of New York Herald star journalist Henry Morton Stanley to renowned explorer Dr. David Livingstone, who had been missing for six years in the wilds of Africa. Into Africa ushers us into the meeting of these remarkable men. In 1866, when Livingstone journeyed into the heart of the African continent in search of the Nile's source, the land was rough, unknown to Europeans, and inhabited by man-eating tribes.

Captivating
Revisado: 03-05-22
What the most interesting and fascinating story I’ve ever heard!
The narrator was exceptional.
Unlike what we’re led to believe today, that colonization was just evil.
Had it not been the British Dr. Livingstone and the American journalist Stanley. To write about a fascinating beauty and the brutality of the Arabs, that continent would still live in misery today.

Historia
In this groundbreaking history of the modern American metropolis, Richard Rothstein explodes the myth that America's cities came to be racially divided through de facto segregation - that is, through individual prejudices, income differences, or the actions of private institutions like banks and real estate agencies. Rather, he incontrovertibly makes clear that it was de jure segregation - the laws and policy decisions passed by local, state, and federal governments - that actually promoted the discriminatory patterns that continue to this day.

Thank you democrats
Revisado: 01-05-22
Very informational, and informative on the timelines of what is taking place in the past especially in Georgia. Interesting how towards the end of the book he put some (very little ) blame on the democratic policies.
Of the presidency‘s in their era including LBJ former career and being the dean of the segregationist colleges. Maybe once they completely take responsibility from what they have done with their policies to the AAs,
we will take them a little more seriously than just a democratic racist agenda.

Historia
These wide-ranging essays - on many individual political, economic, cultural, and legal issues - have as a recurring, underlying theme the decline of the values and institutions that have sustained and advanced American society for more than two centuries. This decline has been more than erosion. It has, in many cases, been a deliberate dismantling of American values and institutions by people convinced that their superior wisdom and virtue must override both the traditions of the country and the will of the people.

Historia
In this reappraisal of racial politics in modern America, Kevin Kruse explains the causes and consequences of "white flight" in Atlanta and elsewhere. Seeking to understand segregationists on their own terms, White Flight moves past simple stereotypes to explore the meaning of white resistance. In the end, Kruse finds that segregationist resistance, which failed to stop the civil rights movement, nevertheless managed to preserve the world of segregation and even perfect it in subtler and stronger forms.

Political correctness

I love when it was more acceptable to state the obvious. People and their politicians were allowed to speak the truth. The last 15 years seems like we’re walking on egg shells, instead of getting to the root of the problems.
