Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

stellar author, as in all his books
Revisado: 10-23-21
he does a fantastic job of narrating his own book, and as always, I learned so much, and thoroughly enjoyed his comprehensive and entertaining experience, accompanied by a practical understanding of caffeine and the history of its place in our current culture

Historia
What we send out into the universe comes back to us magnified. Although the power of intention - the energy of positive thoughts - is widely accepted as an influential force in transforming lives, the exponential power of group intention has never been explored - until now. In The Power of Eight, Lynne McTaggart, an expert on the science of spirituality, reveals her remarkable findings from 10 years of experiments about how group intention can heal our lives - and change the world for the better.

Unacceptable narration
Revisado: 04-14-21
I share what many others say in how jarring and disruptive the narrators style of reading is. It completely disrupts the flow of the book and hence, my attention is constantly interrupted. Her voice routinely becomes grating and very annoying

Historia
In Made in America, Bryson de-mythologizes his native land, explaining how a dusty hamlet with neither woods nor holly became Hollywood, how the Wild West wasn't won, why Americans say 'lootenant' and 'Toosday', how Americans were eating junk food long before the word itself was cooked up, as well as exposing the true origins of the G-string, the original $64,000 question, and Dr Kellogg of cornflakes fame.

bring Bill Bryson back!!!
Revisado: 04-14-21
I share the same complaint the other reviewers do: Bill Bryson must narrate his own books because he's the best at it. This narrator has a jarring voice and little sensitivity to writing of the book. I can't continue.

I wish he did more narration, as he's absolutely superb! Agatha truly is master of the mystery.

great story and series; poor choice narrator.
Revisado: 03-25-19
This writer is always enjoyable. The narrator, though, is not suitable to this role, and actually quite jarring to listen to overall. I wish Audible would test their narrators and conduct polls to determine how well they are received!
