Historia
The first victim is attacked in her home. Tied to her bed. Forced to watch every unspeakable act of cruelty - but unable to scream. The second murder is even more twisted. Signed, sealed, and delivered with a message for the police, stuffed in the victim's throat. A fractured nursery rhyme that ends with a warning: "There will be more". For detective Jack Murphy, it's more than a threat. It's a personal invitation to play.

How bad the story is
Revisado: 09-06-24
Nothing to like about story.wasted 10 hrs of my life. Characters are abysmal. Humor is poorly created and didn’t fit in with story . I won’t read another book by this author.

Historia
Thumbing across the scorched West Texas desert, loner Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is pretty Carmen Greer. But for Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen's got a story to tell, and it's a wild one. All about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that's pure Gothic. She's also got a plan. Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

Painful to listen to. A waste of money.
Revisado: 04-01-23
This is the worst narration I’ve ever listened to on audible. I’ve finished every book I’ve ever started on audible, but I can’t continue with this one. Worst narration I’ve ever heard. Hard to tell if the book is bad, because it ruins it.

Historia
Peel back the glamour of the fabled Hamptons and you'll find a beautiful place filled with ugly secrets. This is Sam Acquillo's world. Moving effortlessly across the social divide with wry pal Jackie Swaitkowski and rich guy Burton Lewis, the ex-boxer, ex-corporate infighter seems doomed to straddle the thin red line between envy and love, hate and forgiveness, goodness and greed - and sometimes, life and death.

I really enjoyed listening to Knopf’s first 2 books in the Acquillo series. This book was a let down. I think the disappointment began with the new narrator.
