Tried &True
Revisado: 06-22-22
I came to bed almost too tired to finish reading this book. But I was enjoying it so much it was no problem. One of the things the author uses is a device that employs a Truth we humans love; and that's taking in animals, learning their personality and maybe even healing them if they're wounded. From her cat to a squirrel with a broken leg, those episodes were so endearing. I really did enjoy this book & will be re.ading the sequel.

THE SHOW STOPPER
Revisado: 06-16-22
Thank Goodness for Audiobooks! The performances and especially for the Authors! What would we do without their imaginations, their stories, their images splashed up on the walls of our minds eyes?! I know for myself life would be as a painting bereft of color, washed out of each array of the Beauty of Truth & of Strength of Honesty, and us, the silent naked witnesses of the elite of life's most Nobilly, faithfully rendered, almost painfuly rendered & recorded for all to stop a while, to see - for if not, our Souls would whither, refuse to go on....unable to respond to the mightiest question of all which in the end we all answer

A Play by Fiona Grace?
Revisado: 06-13-22
Gods! Fiona Grace can write! And somehow when she writes, it's almost as if she meticulously molds each character out of clay as she sees them, clothes them, knows their hearts and minds...and when she sets them into the arena, of course, and breathes life into them that each 'Pinocchio' is now able to act out their scenes, each one according to their part perhaps to 'give themselves away' (we hope!) until THE END.
And by the Gods! Since Fiona Grace has an ability to create dialog like no other, each character truly seems imbued with life, such that we never doubt their words or actions, nor each character's proximity to another. Nor do we doubt the consequences of their actions ... which in a Mystery is exactly what is so necessary! and what makes it so fun to try to tease apart the strings of Consequence to finally solve the mystery and find Who-Done-It in THE END!
We actually ought not doubt the consequences of their actions at all, as this belongs to the realm of 'the Creator' of this mystery. (ahem...sorry! couldn'thelpmyself!) Or It may be the purview of the Detective, or the Doctor, or the Dotty old lady who steps in to solve it! After all, we owe it to whomever may solve the riddle in THE END.
Many thanks for giving us a place for our Reviews!

Historia
Georgie, or Lady Georgiana Rannoch, is busy planning her upcoming nuptials to Darcy O'Mara. Unfortunately, what has started as a simple wedding has become quite a royal headache and grand affair, thanks to a guest list that includes the queen and the appointment of princesses as Georgie's bridesmaids. “If only Darcy and I had eloped!” she thinks, as she attempts to organize her wedding and find a place for her and her husband-to-be to live. Just as she despairs of ever finding a home, her godfather offers his fully staffed country estate. But something sinister is afoot....

Famished
Revisado: 05-31-22
If you recall the very first video game you're sure to remember Pac-man, If you can recall the steady, relentless pace at which he gobbled up every piece in the game as you'd guide it home & win, you'd know how I feel getting and consuming a new Rhys Bowen book. It's been so long since the last installment in the series I've became famished for another great read! And though I did find this story just as palatable as the last, there wasn't the usual frequency of laugh out loud humor with which she typically generously peppers the best of her amazing books!
I'm in awe of Jasmine Blackborow's talented performance. Brava! and please pass the ham!
