the narrator did a good job with secondary characters. but the main charactor sounded too much like a machine.

I love Jim Dale! He got me into listening to the Harry Potter series, he brings them to life! Each Harry Potter book has a new adventure, and he keeps the characters going throughout.
The story keeps you drawn in for what happens next, never a dull moment.

Superbly Amazing!
Revisado: 10-18-22
I found this 2nd book to be just as mysterious and captivating as the 1st book in the series (which I found by chance)! They are books that you know you will revisit one day when still only half way trough your fist read. This was my 2nd full read and I loved it as much this time as I did the 1st time I picked it up only a year ago. Desperately hoping for a book 5! Thank you Ms. Walsh!

robot narrator
Revisado: 05-10-22
The story is amazing, but it's hard to enjoy when the narrator sounds like a robot. She is very monotone and pauses so long between each sentence. It's like she's in a race to read the sentence, and then has to stop and catch her breath before the next sentence. If I didn't love julie garwood books, I would not have sat through this one. She reads very aggressive.

Historia
August 1939: London is dismal under the weight of impending war with Germany as Hitler’s forces continue to sweep across Europe. Into this uncertain maelstrom steps Grace Bennett, young and ready for a fresh start in the bustling city streets she’s always dreamed of - and miles away from her troubled past in the countryside. With aspirations of working at a department store, Grace never imagined she’d wind up employed at Primrose Hill, an offbeat bookshop nestled in the heart of the city - after all, she’s never been much of a reader.

Captivating
Revisado: 10-04-21
This is usually not my kind of book. I love books about history but I tend to stay away from WWII stories because they are so sad. However, this book was so wonderfully written, I am happy to have come across it. I must confess, it was the title that made me read it in the first place. I would recommend it to any reader. It is definitely worth at least one read by everyone! It only took me a couple of days from start to finish!

Exceptional
Revisado: 08-27-21
This was one of the best trilogies I have read in a long time. The 3 books tie together so well, and there are so many hidden things in the first book that pop up with importance within the later books. I chose this series based on the cover and I am grateful I did. If you love history or Tudor history, It is well worth the read! Please support this author! She definitely deserves it. Truly amazing work and very entertaining!
