From Atlanta's wealthiest suburbs to its stark inner-city housing projects, a killer has crossed the boundaries of wealth and race. And the people who are chasing him must cross those boundaries, too. Graphic and hard to finish
Revisado: 03-05-23
I liked the story but found the brutality and graphic elements hard to read. The narration was good that I could differentiate between the characters but some readings were monotone that I had a hard time continuing with the story. I’m not sure I will continue reading the series or with this author because of how graphic the story was.

Good read!

Really liked this book. My only complaint would be that the narration has “glitches” where the voice changes out of character. Slightly annoying but not enough to mess with the story.

I was pretty sure my dead ex-boyfriend’s brother hated me...until he asked me to marry him. And pretend his brother’s baby - which I’m carrying, BTW - is really his. So now I’m suddenly the wife of a quirky tech billionaire, and falling in like with him so fast, it’s beginning to feel an awful lot like love.

Different, in a good way!
Revisado: 12-04-17
What did you love best about His Pretend Baby?
I really liked that Go was a character that I have never read before. A very different kind of Geek. Nyla was the perfect match for him and the story flowed well.
Bonus: There were moments that just made me laugh out loud.
What did you like best about this story?
Two favorites: Go and "The Plans". Nyla's first visit to the company.
What does Clementine Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Nice voice. It was easy to tell when she changed characters.
Any additional comments?
This was my first time reading this author and listening to Clementine Dove. I wasn't sure if I would like this book and was very pleasantly surprised. I did guess the cause of the leak but the end played out differently than I anticipated. I will definitely consider reading this author's other book and listening to books narrated by Clementine Dove.

Historia
Dr. Temperance Brennan, Forensic Anthropologist for the Province of Quebec, digs for a corpse where Sister Elisabeth Nicolet, dead for over a century and now a candidate for sainthood, should be lying in her grave. A strange, small coffin, buried in the recesses of a decaying church, holds the first clue to the cloistered nun's fate. The puzzle surrounding Sister Elisabeth Nicolet's life and death provides a welcome contrast to discoveries at a burning chalet, where scorched and twisted bodies await Tempe's professional expertise.

Narration could be better
Revisado: 10-26-17
I loved the story but was disappointed in the narration. Bonnie Hurren has a nice voice for women but not great for the men. I often had a hard time understanding when the character changed.
NOTE to Bones Fans: the characters are NOT the same as the TV series.
Some might have a hard time following since there are two different stories. I enjoyed this book and definitely will continue to read others in the series.

Historia
For untold years, the perfectly preserved mummy had lain forgotten in the dusty basement of Boston’s Crispin Museum. Now its sudden rediscovery by museum staff is both a major coup and an attention-grabbing mystery. Dubbed “Madam X,” the mummy–to all appearances, an ancient Egyptian artifact–seems a ghoulish godsend for the financially struggling institution. But medical examiner Maura Isles soon discovers a macabre message hidden within the corpse–horrifying proof that this “centuries-old” relic is instead a modern-day murder victim.

I really enjoyed the story and characters.
Disliked the Narration. The female voices were too much alike especially when Jane and Moira are talking. The voice for Barry made him souls like a teenager.

I was really looking forward to this book but it just did not keep me enthralled. It took 11 hours of listening and if you cut the sex in half, you would have about 7-8 hours of story still with a lot sex. Really, I like erotica but this book had too much sex. I am ok with dominant stories but this was more than I could accept. 100% submissiveness just is not to my taste. One listen is all I'll give this one.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Great story and written well. Although I guessed the ending, I was kept interested through to the end. I will listen to this book again in the future.
What three words best describe Fran McClellan’s voice?
Needs more work.
Any additional comments?
Fran McClellan does well but it's hard to distinguish her male character voices.

Historia
They say a painting can have a life of its own… In the case of Ghosts in the Mind by Henry Sebastian Hubert, that’s more than just an expression. This painting is reputed to come to life - and to bring death. Now, almost two hundred years later, the painting appears in New Orleans. Wherever it goes, death seems to follow. Danielle Cafferty and Michael Quinn, occasional partners in solving crime, are quickly drawn into the case.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The trips to the castle were the best parts of the read.

My Favorite to Read, it's an OK listen.
Revisado: 11-27-13
Would you try another book from Laurann Dohner and/or Vanessa Chambers?
I have already bought other books in this series mainly because I REALLY like this series. Since I drive at least 2 hours a day, I wanted to enjoy my reading time.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Breeze but even her character's voice didn't meet my expectations.
Would you be willing to try another one of Vanessa Chambers’s performances?
Although I did not think Vanessa was able to put a great voice into the male characters, I would listen to a performance with her. I don't think that she has enough range to give life to the male characters. The characters mostly sounded sarcastic, all the time, even when they were afraid/scared (lawyer and Pete). Tiger's voice was really disappointing.
I feel that to do justice (no pun intended) to this series, a male AND a female narrator are necessary (unless its Narrator: Phil Gigante).
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes, if was done like the Hobbit / Lord of the Rings performance standard. I wouldn't if it was a straight to video type of movie. I can see Viggo Moretensen as Justice! Or even Slade...
