Historia
The double murder of a married couple in a small Washington town draws FBI forensic linguist Raisa Susanto into an investigation that mirrors a decades-old crime. Twenty-five years ago—to the day—Alex Parker murdered his parents, then took his own life, leaving behind a note admitting everything. Raisa, paired with forensic psychologist Callum Kilkenny, uses her skills to read between the lines. Especially now that paranoid postings on a conspiracy thread suggest that Alex was a victim himself.

But wait! There’s more!
Revisado: 04-01-25
Interesting subject. I enjoyed most of the book. Characters a bit flat though, and the last twists and turns were too much. A simpler ending would have been more satisfying.

What’s not to love?
If you need a break from reality (and who doesn’t occasionally?) this is very fun and well-written. I am looking forward to next in series.

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Could have used a good editor
Revisado: 01-13-23
Intriguing concept, could have been great? Maybe? but characters were never fully developed and the plot line wandered too much. Last epic battle felt like someone just had a cool idea, didn’t fit.
And the ending was extremely abrupt. Felt like a page limit was reached, all done now!
Bright spot - narrator did a great job with a rather challenging format. Kudos

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Revisado: 09-24-22
Fabulous story, fascinating characters
I had been waiting eagerly for the Audiobook, so was delighted to see my preorder come in.
However, as someone who listens on road trips, I found this narration very difficult.
It felt as if the narrator was whispering. Very low undertones. Given the road noise, I had volume cranked well beyond my usual comfort level and was constantly rewinding. Still missed some things, fortunately I do not mind listening again!
It seems to be ok with earbuds, but please consider for future. A lot of people listen in the car with their phone also navigating, so that audience does need some accommodation.

If you have not listened to either the Thursday Murder Club or The Man Who Died Twice, don’t wait!
Great mystery, charming characters, and excellent writing. At turns, you will laugh out loud and then be touched to the point of tears.
Definitely recommend listening to the interviews with the author at end of the books. Good fun!
I can’t wait for Richard Osman to bring us more adventures from Cooper’s Chase!

Historia
It is the summer of 2013, and Abigail Kamara has been left to her own devices. This might, by those who know her, be considered a mistake. While her cousin, police constable and apprentice wizard Peter Grant, is off in the sticks chasing unicorns, Abigail is chasing her own mystery. Teenagers around Hampstead Heath have been going missing, but before the police can get fully engaged, the teens return home - unharmed but vague about where they've been.
