This thriller ranks with the best of them. What's so unique is that the book is so integral of the dog/man relationship; but takes it even further by writing parts of the story as experienced through the dog.

The only other book or books that I've found that tell part or all of the story through the perspective of the dog is 'The Book of Riley 1 & 2' by Mark Tufo. Though the books are very different in genres, it means so much to experience a story through how a dog would perceive it as these animals are so important and meaningful in our lives.

This is a must-listen for sure- hope there are more to come like this.

If you like 'The Walking Dead' type of stories & really want more of the 'dog perspective' stories, check out 'The Book of Riley 1 & 2'. While not as amazing as 'Suspect' and not meant to be as realistic, they are definitely great listens worth the time.

The Walking Dead TV series was the first thing that got me into the zombie genre. The Walking Dead was not at all what I expected and I had no expectations that this genre would be so extremely addictive. The outcome in this story & who would actually develop into 'the Governor' totally caught me by surprise until the last 1/4 or so of the story. It is definitely filled with lots of suspense and surprises.

This would have to be my 3rd favorite zombie story. Only J.L. Bourne's "Day By Day Armageddon" series tops it in my opinion. Hopefully more of TWD series will be made into audio book version with the huge success of the TV show proving that TWD is something that people want more of.

Not having any familiarity with the comic book series, I keep wondering & waiting for when the Governor will cross paths with the group that is displayed on the TV series.

The Walking Dead TV series was the first thing that got me into the zombie genre. The Walking Dead was not at all what I expected and I had no expectations that this genre would be so gripping. Hungering for more, I dug into reviews of prominent zombie fiction authors looking for more great zombie stories that would hold over my new addiction until the new season of TWD started up again.

J.L. Bourne's 2 DBDA books kept showing up in the top lists. After listening to both DBDA books, and several others in the genre (Rise of the Governor- The Walking Dead, World War Z, & The Morning Star Strain); this 2 book series is unquestionably the best in this genre of stories! The others were good or outstanding, but nothing tops DBDA.

The only real disappointment in this series is finding out afterward that J.L. Bourne is still active as an officer in the military, thereby delaying or postponing his ability to continue writing full-time. God bless our military & I fully appreciate the sacrifices they make- but can't the Navy let Bourne have a 3 or 4 year leave of absence to write full-time?! I can't wait until Shattered Hourglass (the 3rd in this series) is published!!
