Pandemonium: a twilight dimension of nightmare creatures, mythical beings, the undead, and everything in between. To Dead Jack, it’s hell sweet hell. In the first book of the series, the tortured, drug-addicted detective and his associate, the homunculus Oswald, face rogue leprechauns, ghost pirates, a sex-obsessed shark woman, sycophantic ghouls, an insecure fire demon, and a goateed maniac who calls himself the Duke of Pandemonium.

An Enjoyable Wild ride in a paranormal world.
Revisado: 02-23-20
Where do I start? This was THE most enjoyable book I have listened to / read in a long time. I will be looking for more from this author in the future.
.
The Narrator did a great job with this story. He has a vast range of voice that is enjoyable to listen to. I liked that he doesn't use music and sound effects that drown out the narration. His voice is all he needed. Thanks for that.
.
Dead Jack is a Zombie PI with a need for "Fairy Dust." It keeps his hunger at bay and the rest of the population safe from being eaten ...except for maybe one smart-mouthed angry rude Leprechaun, but that was more a case Dead Jack had, had enough LOL or maybe Dead Jack just needed a shine bone to pick his teeth. (Wink)
Dead Jack is a Nori's kind of old school PI. Dead Jack and his sidekick/partner Oswald whom I can only describe as a parasite shape-shifting type golem have a rocky kind of relationship but they make a good team.
Dead Jack and Oswald caught a case. To find the 52 (I think) missing cats that belong to the Mighty Goblin Drag Queen. All of the characters are so well written, with larger than life traits, and personalities you can't help but like them even, the ones that are not very likable.
He runs into some curious creatures along the way and an old chum that has gone sour. A few marbles short of a set if you ask me. It was a very well written enjoyable story and there was a surprise short story at the end of the book of the prequel/ or next book for Dead Jack. I enjoyed that very much as well. I have purchased book two already and hope to read more from this Author.

Revisado: 02-15-20
I enjoyed this collection, as in most Anthologies, there are a few stories that stand out from the pack. All the short stories were good in their own way, this is an impressive group of Authors many are "New to me."
Here are my top three favorites from the collection. 1) Scarecrow By David A Simpson. Here we have Jessie who was getting restless once the immediate threat died down after the initial Zompoc. He leaves the safety of the walled community that is trying to rebuild a civilized county. Jessie becomes a "Retriever", for excitement, they always have the best stories. It had been years since the world fell apart. Jessie retrieves those memento's people were forced to leave behind when they first fled to survive, for a price of course.
On one of these trips, he comes across a young child on the roof of an RV. Things get more exciting after their chance encounter. A stroke of genius is where this story had to have come from.
2) Trap door by Roma Gray. People freak over a tiny house spider, could you imagine the stark terror of having huge trap door spiders living on your land where you look like a nat to them? I know several people who would not have been able to entertain the notion of this. It would be too much for them. I enjoyed the imagery that she pained in this story and I could only imagine the stark terror.
3)Cold hands warm hearts. By Mark Woods. The moral I took away from this story is that Adults should tell children the truth. Had the children been told the truth of their school friend dying the following tragedy could have been avoided. This was an interesting twist on the innocents of children.
The Narrator didn't have a wide range of voices which would be fine for a single story, but when there is an anthology with many stories it would be nice if they took on the characters, Instead, the voices in the stories all ran together. If you were not paying attention it would be easy to miss the transition into a new story.

Evil hides in many places and takes many forms. For indie author Frank Stewart it came to him as a child and guided him through life. Hidden away in a dust filled room deep within his brain. Watching, waiting, and guiding Frank’s hands across the keyboard. Only when the lines of reality and fiction blur will the truth come out. Is it coincidence or is Frank foretelling the victims doom in his books?

Where evil lies
Odd occurrences were hidden from Frank Stewart a now Independent Author when he was a child. Horrible, terrifying occurrences for his parents. You see Frank was picked on and bullies as a child, by kids two years his senior. It is funny how our brain works to protect us from trauma. Franks's past and present are about to collide as his childhood imaginary friend Aerial suddenly reappears. and bits and pieces of his past that had been buried for years surface to the light of day. Frank learns the truth and wonders if there is a way to break the pack made by his much younger self in a way that will keep his family and himself alive. This is a bit of pure genius in writing. Wow,-what a concept! Well written and executed perfectly. I look forward to reading more by this author A.L. White.
The narrator did an excellent job with this story, I look forward to hearing more from him as well.

I messed up and listened to book 2 first. It was better than this one. Z chronicles were enjoyable enough, but not as well written as the second book. It was nice to get the back story on some of the characters that are in book 2.
The narrator did a great job with the book. I love the fact that he only needs his voice to tell a compelling story. It doesn't have any annoying "too loud music" nor does it have stupid sound effects that drown out the narration.

Enduring a world where all they knew and loved has perished has taken quite a toll on the girls but they soldier on regardless; ever determined to continue their journey on old Bob’s map.

Great story, Great protagonist, Roy, I wanted to hit him in the face with a shovel.LOL.Love the characters it would be hard to pick just one favorite so my top 5 are Virginia &"The Lads", Boo, Doc, Zoe, and Charlie.
A.L. White wrote a captivating story, well-rounded characters, a realistic world for them to try and survive in. I am sure anyone will find at least one to sympathize with. I look forward to reading/hearing more from this Author. This book2 was much better than the first book Z Chronicles.
Narrator David loving did a wonderful job with it. What I liked the best is that he didn't need any sound effects, just his voice to tell a believable story.

Can we really know someone? How they will react
Revisado: 09-21-18
One can never be sure what lurks beneath the surface of the conscious mind. A mother is in a state of denial, blinded by the love she has for her son. The estrangement she has for her husband is starting to wane. He is a good provider and she is starting to see him the way she did when they were first married. Only he wants the two of them to leave and find a safe haven. She doesn’t understand what is wrong with him, why would he even entertain the thought of leaving their son behind. How dare he.
How do you think you do, dealing with adversity? Do we really, fully understand to what lengths our subconscious mind will go to protect our conscious, delicate psyche?
This was a fast paced book, that should appeal to a broad group of readers. It makes you wonder what you might do if someone like Amelia was someone you loved and wanted to get them to safety. Could you handle her? Reason with her? Would you leave them?
This was an enjoyable story that touches the darkness in all of humankind.
The Narrator did a great job at bringing the story alive. The Author did a great job of making us both love and hate the main character. It is more than "Just another Zombie survival story", it causes us to look at the raw condition of mankind. He causes us to ask, "What would I do in her or her Husband's shoes?"

What a fun read. Looks like a good start to an unusual zombie series. It is a good-natured story with interesting characters A perfect balance of humor and blood /guts. I can't wait for book two. I see great things coming from this Author in the future as his craft matures. The narrator did a great Alabama drawl. Some of the characters make you shake your head as we all know someone like them. All in all I enjoyed this book.

The pack is coming together, but one wolf would rather be alone with his demons than united as a team. In the second installment in the Olento Research series, Connor runs from the Lucidite Institute and his pack, fearful of what the wolf will make him do. All of the men describe feeling the impulses, the desires that are unquenchable, coursing through them. But Connor knows he has a lesser chance of resisting those impulses due to his background.

A mess to clean up
Revisado: 12-06-17
What made the experience of listening to Lone Wolf the most enjoyable?
A good Narrator and a well written story
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If time permitted.
Any additional comments?
Another series of Characters to love by Mrs. Sarah Noffke. She never disappoints. What a rich world she creates for her readers to get lost in.
The Canis Lupus project of the Olender Research Company, is proving to be a mess to clean up for the Lucidite Institute. Now Olento has a new project in the works.
Adelaide has taken on some of her father's attributes as to giving people at the Lucidite Institute nick names and Ren's "forget the rules, because they don't apply to me attitude."The institute had an unwelcome visitor sent by Olender Research to get more information. We also find out more about the FBI agent Rio.
I love this new series from Sarah Noffke. It is unlike any werewolf story you have read to date. What brilliance to add the Dream travelers gifts. We have all the faves from the institute like Tray ,Aidan,Pop's and many more.

Alpha Wolf By Sarah Noffke
4/2017
This is the series that came after Ren Lewis. It is a stand alone series as well as smoothly knitted into Mrs.Noffke's other series.
It brought a smile to my face having a part of Ren back in Adelaid's snark.
If you read Ren, You will recognize several characters form the Lucidite Institute. You also would know the lead investigator into the Werewolf outbreak, "Canis Lupus Project" is what the creators called it. is Ren's daughter Adelaide. It was the level 5 case her dad had been working on and he handed it to Adelaide before he left.Tray Underwood, head Official at the Lucidite Institute, Adelaide ,Trent the head strategist, Dr. Aiden Livingston (it was his research that was stolen when he asked for outside help on a project he was working on for Ren.) Rox is an FBI agent/dream traveler that has joined the team.
There were 12 men abducted from various locations, we met 4 of the werewolf /dream travelers in this book Rio, Zephyr, Kaleb Magner, and Connor as well as a few of the lead people at the Olento Research facility. Mika, Alexander Drake, Morgan,(Morgan has a twin sister and Mr.Lenna offered them more money if Morgan could get his twin to participate in his testing research trial.) Then there is Grant (head of security at Olento )We also fine one of the men was an apprentices of the dastardly Charles Knight. A character from the Vagabond Circus series.
This is a werewolf story that you haven't seen before. So complex and intriguing story. Mrs. Noffke is a brilliant Author and all her books tie in with the Dream traveler world she so painstakingly created. I love seeing characters I already know their back story and have seen them in action. She always introduces us to newbie’s as well as our old friends and nemesis. You haven't read any of Sarah Noffke's other books? Don't worry they do quite well as stand alone series. Sarah is brilliant in her writing. I have read four of her series and always want to read more. The Alpha Wolf series is off to a hair raising good start, I can hardly wait for the next installment and this one hasn't hit the book shelves yet.

Would you listen to Lament again? Why?
Yes it was well written and the narration was excellent
What other book might you compare Lament to and why?
I don't compare books , I think it is rude and not helpful.
Have you listened to any of Jack Wallen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes , many of the books he has narrated. I like his style. He uses his voice instead of sound effects that drown out the narrator's voice to get the utmost reaction from his audience.
Any additional comments?
It was unlike anything I had read before. Fast, Complex and well written.I am not Tech savvy or a Cyber Geek and yet this book was enjoyable and not over my head.

Lament the overwhelming craving for Data.It does bad things to the human body and mind if they can’t get their fix of data.
This story takes place in two worlds, Real Time (RT) and Ocular Reality (OR).A few of the key players in OR is Kagami The leader of Yakuza in the Shinjuku area a dark and seedy place. And she can call the Reavers if you are a troublemaker to whipe you out.
