Historia
The mighty, iconic A-10 Warthog was first thrust into battle in Operation Desert Storm. The men who took it through walls of flak and surface-to-air missiles to help defeat the world's fourth-largest army were as untested as their airplanes, so they relied on personal determination and the amazing A-10 to accomplish their missions, despite the odds.

A fascinating peek into a war pilot's life
Revisado: 01-16-23
This book was easy to listen to, having been a USAF transport pilot myself, long before Desert Storm. It was easy for me to close my eyes and see the 'movie' that was this story to its author. I completely enjoyed this book.

The Saga Begins
Revisado: 12-19-22
I dislike the reader’s varying from the original text as written. Those frequent dips back into likely Middle English and archaic words give this story of 13th century Brits a very colorful tone. Too bad for us listeners. Otherwise he didn’t fall into the trap set by French words & phrases that totally ruin most reader’s attempts to tell a story.

When a drug-addled Hunter Biden abandoned his waterlogged computer at a Mac repair shop in Delaware in the spring of 2019, just six days before his father announced his candidacy for the United States presidency, it became the ticking time bomb in the shadows of Joe Biden’s campaign.

Cynicism
Revisado: 10-16-22
This book is very well-written, but after listening to it, I'm sickened at the motives of the Bidens. If this is a typical story of the political class, this class needs to be excised from our society. It's a story of how riches are obtained from our enemies and folded back into a would-be political empire. You can't even compare the story of the Bidens to, say, the Kennedys. Joe's interest is never in the American people, it's always in obtaining and cementing his grip on power by any means possible, fronted by an abused, drug-ravished son who seems to have no other purpose on this Earth. The gaslighting is astounding, compounded by massive bribery, resulting in unimaginable behaviors. If you ever wondered why politicians lie, and what their miserable lives are like, you should read this book. Afterwards, you'll find it difficult to tolerate any hypocrisy from politicians, ever, knowing that their motives are as distant from purity as possible. Never mind the oath they so eagerly betray at the expense of our liberties and our social constructs.

The Real Anthony Fauci details how Fauci, Gates, and their cohorts use their control of media outlets, scientific journals, key government and quasi-governmental agencies, global intelligence agencies, and influential scientists and physicians to flood the public with fearful propaganda about COVID-19 virulence and pathogenesis, and to muzzle debate and ruthlessly censor dissent.

I am so outraged....
Revisado: 03-07-22
I am very outraged that ONE individual with a seeming complete lack of anything resembling morality can end, ruin, or seriously affect the lives of millions of others. His greed devolves into absolute misery for his victims; but who cares as long as the money keeps rolling in? And that he could find so many others, equally devoid of morals as himself, simply drives me crazy with rage. The AIDS crisis is his, and so is the COVID-19 scamdemic ... anything to keep that revenue flowing to Big Pharma and himself (and his crew of lying henchmen), no matter how much of a ruse it is. I'm seriously of the opinion that Dr Fauci should be tried for mass murder and treason. It's odd, but the penalty for treason exceeds that for mass murder, I favor whatever takes this scumbag off the planet, and hope his violations of the Nuremberg Code alone get him the death penalty (although I know the EU won't permit it).

Historia
There are few moments in American history in which the course of events tipped so suddenly and so dramatically as at the Battle of Midway. At dawn of June 4, 1942, a rampaging Japanese navy ruled the Pacific. By sunset, their vaunted carrier force (the Kido Butai) had been sunk and their grip on the Pacific had been loosened forever. In this absolutely riveting account of a key moment in the history of World War II, one of America's leading naval historians, Craig L. Symonds, paints an unforgettable portrait of ingenuity, courage, and sacrifice.

Historia
Easy Company, 506th Airborne Division, U.S. Army, was as good a rifle company as any in the world. From their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 to D-Day and victory, Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company, which kept getting the tough assignments. Easy Company was responsible for everything from parachuting into France early D-Day morning to the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. Band of Brothers is the account of the men of this remarkable unit.

Historia
Dien Bien Phu. Saigon. Hanoi. In 1954, they were only exotic names from a French campaign halfway around the world. But now American fighting men - proven on the bloody beaches of Normandy and in the minefields of Korea - are summoned to help beat back the guerilla forces of Ho Chi Minh. To some, the “secret” war in Indochina was the depth of folly. To others, like the majors, it pointed to the heights of glory.

More mispronunciation of foreign language words
Revisado: 01-25-21
I speak several languages, French and German among them. This narrator obviously speaks neither. His mispronunciations of words in both are horrendous, and they detract from the story, as bad as they are. To be fair, he doesn't mispronounce English language words often, but he blows even those on very rare occasions. Intonation is fair, but the narrator's mistakes shouldn't make him the focus of the story, as they do quite often.

Mr . Cornwell has done it yet again!
Revisado: 06-30-20
As I now expect from one of my very favorite authors, this episode in this epic series was spellbinding and difficult to put down. Character and environment development were done with great care, speed control, and detail, even if the plot line took liberties with historical accuracy. This story is recommended for all adult audiences.

Historia
It is a time of political turmoil once more as the fading King Edward begins to lose control over his successors and their supporters. There are two potential heirs - possibly more - and doubt over whether the once separate states of Wessex and Mercia will hold together. Despite attempts at pulling him into the political fray, Uhtred of Bebbanburg cares solely about his beloved Northumbria and its continuing independence from southern control.

Amazing book, crown to a magnificent series
Revisado: 06-02-20
Perhaps I shouldn't say that just yet, there's apparently one more book in the series I haven't yet read. I understand it's not quite released yet, either, so it looks as if there's to be a long wait. But Mr. Cornwell's works are generally worth the wait; I can't remember a series closer in which I was disappointed.
