Julie Anderson feels a need to find the man she fell deeply in love with during her youth. When Julie went off to college to become a lawyer, she lost contact with her high school sweetheart. She now wants to know what became of Joey, and why he stopped writing to her. This is an assignment that intrigues Amelia. The thought of finding a long-lost love seems quite romantic.

This was one of my favorite books in this series to read so I was excited to listen to it. I love long-lost love stories so was interested to see how this one would end. Rick and Amelia don't have to travel very far for this case but I still enjoyed their travels. They are adorable together and their relationship continues to grow. I'm not crazy about the narrator's portrayal of Rick but that doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment of their story. This is a fun series to either listen to or read!

This is one of my favorite books that I've read so far this year so I jumped at the chance to listen to it. I love it when an audiobook has a male and female narrator when the book is told from both a male and female point of view. These narrators did a fabulous job!
I loved listening to Kai and Avery's story come to life! Avery is struggling ever since Kai died trying to save her. She has no idea who he is, though, since he drowned and no family reported him missing. From the other side, Kai hurts for her and comes up with a plan to help her move on with her life. His plan takes some unexpected turns, though, and things might not end up the way he originally hoped they would.
I always feel like I get more out of a book when I both read it and listen to it. Even though I knew what would happen, listening to it brought just as much joy as reading it did. This is a book I will listen to again and again. The bottom line is: This book is fantastic whether you choose to read it or listen to it!
I received a complimentary audiobook, which did not affect my review in any way.

Entertaining Cozy Mysteries!
Revisado: 08-22-16
I love to read but also enjoy listening to books. I was excited to listen to this since it's a collection of three mysteries. In the first story, Jamie Quinn's cousin, Adam (who has Asperger's Syndrome), is accused of murder. Jamie is a family attorney but she works to clear his name. We're introduced to her friend Grace and Duke, a private investigator and former client, who both help her figure out who the real killer is. This story was pretty short but was a good introduction to the series.
In the second story, a divorce case turns into a murder investigation with Jamie's client as the prime suspect. Once again, she enlists Duke's help in order to uncover the truth. Jamie runs into her high school boyfriend, Kip, who is back in the area and they start to date again. She also starts to look for her long-lost father.
In the final book, Jamie and Kip have been dating for six months and strange things start happening at his work. Kip doesn't confide in Jamie, but she gets involved, anyway, along with Duke and Grace. She also learns more about her father. I liked the addition of Kip to the story and hope he sticks around for a while. I thought these were a great mix of mystery and getting to know Jamie and her friends better.
I enjoyed all three stories! I wasn't crazy about the narrator, though. Duke had a slow, southern drawl which was annoying at times. Jamie sounded stiff most of the time. I would give the narrator 3 stars since I felt she got a little better after the first story.
It would be best to read these in order since new characters are introduced and there are some continuing storylines. The first two were pretty short so that won't be hard to do. There are a few mild swear words and a little bit of innuendo. These are great if you enjoy cozy mysteries! I look forward to reading more in this series!

My favorite of the series so far!
Revisado: 08-22-16
Amelia and Rick are hired by Pauline Jones to find her missing boyfriend, Sam Whitaker. He has disappeared at the same time a valuable porcelain doll has gone missing from the museum where he works. Pauline is upset since she knows he's not a thief and it's not like him to just disappear without telling her where he's going. They start investigating and are led to Denver, Colorado. The more they learn about what's happening, the faster they realize they need to locate Sam because someone else is looking for him, too.
When I was first reading the series from the beginning, this was my favorite one to date and listening to it reminded me why. Rick and Amelia's relationship develops more in this book as she loosens up and starts to open up to him. They work together and have fun together and make an amazing couple. They complement each other well as they have different skills and abilities that help them solve the case.
This is a fun series to both read and listen to! They're written in a way that you don't need to read (or listen) to them in order since each case stands alone but you'll want to so you can experience Rick and Amelia's relationship from the beginning. I'm looking forward to listening to the next one!

Revisado: 04-28-16
What did you love best about Clockwise?
I loved Casey! She is funny, intelligent, and quick on her feet. She time travels back to 1860 and has no control over when she goes. She has a crush on a cute boy named Nate and accidentally takes him with her. She's continuously coming up with stories to explain her unexpected presence there, but when she returns to the present time period, no time has elapsed.
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed her scenes with Nate! He's obviously confused at first about where they are and thinks his friends have played an elaborate joke on him. As he comes to terms with what's happening, he starts to see Casey differently than he has before. Things get awkward between them when they return to the present, as he processes what happened. I liked how their relationship progressed.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I enjoyed everything about it. I thought the narrator did a fabulous job! I enjoyed getting to know Casey, Nate, and Samuel. I loved the ending and am looking forward to reading/listening to more!

Revisado: 04-28-16
This is a series that I have really enjoyed reading! I like listening to the stories as well because I feel that I get more out of it and it reminds me of how far Rick and Amelia have come. I love the way their relationship progresses. I love their bucket lists and their traveling. I feel like I'm in each location with them.
This book is about a missing man who can save an orphanage in Mexico if he's found in time. There are twists and turns along the way and people who don't want him to be found. Rick and Amelia have their work cut out for them. They work well together and make a great team!
If you enjoy cozy mysteries with clean romance, this is a series you will want to read or listen to (or both)! Once I finish one, I'm already looking forward to the next one!

I read this book a little over a year ago. I enjoyed listening to it because I always get more out of a book when I both read and listen to it. I liked the way the author used different voices for the characters and felt them come more alive. Rick and Amelia are awesome together and I love their interactions. Since I've now read further into the series, I liked going back and remembering what made me fall in love with them in the first place. I loved visiting Ireland with Rick and Amelia and being reminded of their bucket lists. This is a series that I love, whether I read or listen to it!

What did you love best about The Bali Mystery?
I loved the pacing. I never lost interest in the story. I also loved the descriptions of the places they visited.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to know how the mystery would wrap up and I wanted more of Rick and Amelia's relationship.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I wanted to listen to this book in one sitting. It flowed so well that I wanted to keep listening.
Any additional comments?
I read this book prior to listening to it and what I like about doing both is that I tend to catch things when I listen that I miss when I read and vice versa. I feel like I get the story in full when I both read and listen. This was an enjoyable performance to listen to and I highly recommend this book and series!!

More Claire and Rafe!
Revisado: 07-31-15
What did you like best about this story?
I love Claire and Rafe's relationship. They are both independent yet still need each other. They're in the beginning of their relationship where they want to spend every waking moment together and it's a reminder of how wonderful that feels. Their jobs can harden them but they each bring out the tender side of the other one. They also have fun and their competitive natures come out as well.
Which character – as performed by Simon Pringle-Wallace – was your favorite?
I liked Claire better than Rafe. There were times that he comes across as stiff and I like to think he's a bit more loose than that.
Any additional comments?
This is a good follow-up to All Fall Down. I liked getting to know Claire and Rafe better and get more insight into their relationship. It doesn't take long to listen to this audio so I will be listening to it again!

Romantic Suspense at it's finest!!
Revisado: 06-23-15
I love this series and am glad it's on audiobook! The narration is well done. I have a difficult time remembering the different voices I use when I read books with my children so I'm amazed when these narrators consistently use the same voices for different characters. Simon Pringle-Wallace is pleasant to listen to and is clear and easy to understand so I think he did a great job!
This book is well-written and fast-paced! Just when I thought I could relax, something else would happen so it doesn't drag at all. Claire and Rafe are great characters and I enjoyed the beginning of their relationship. I read it a long time ago so there were parts that I forgot and I liked listening to it because I feel like I got even more out of it.
I love the Hostage Negotiation Team and think they work well together. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of their stories!
