Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

A story as solidly written as its protagonist’s curmudgeonly humanity
Revisado: 02-07-23
This story was put together brick by brick like a sturdy house that its protagonist would build.

Historia
Indie-rock icon Aimee Mann is well acquainted with trauma and the transformative act of using it as a basis for artistic expression, but that doesn’t mean that she knows how or why it works. Mann goes on a journey of discovery to better understand the link between damage and why what we do with it matters.

Beautiful investigation of complex subject…
Revisado: 01-17-23
We don’t know the relationship between trauma and art. However, we have theories and ideas about this that deserve exploration. And this was a lovely exploration of those ideas & theories.

As one of the music world’s most iconic artists and the cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), Bono’s career has been written about extensively. But in Surrender, it’s Bono who picks up the pen, writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism.

A fully produced entertainment product!
Revisado: 12-20-22
I have often thought that an audiobook could have more to offer than just a good reader. This presentation proves audiobooks can be more than having a book read to you. In this particular case, it offered very much more!

Historia
Legendary Grammy Award-winning producer and towering musical icon T Bone Burnett speaks plainly, which is all the more reason why his stunning new Words + Music, The Confederacy: Truth and Reconciliation, lands with such force. And his songs, delivered straight from the heart, carry with them the weight of unvarnished truth and the wisdom he’s gathered from a lifetime.

Essential listening for all of humanity!
Revisado: 12-27-21
This is probably the most poignant and powerful “Essay” I have ever heard. I believe my ignorance of many of the points of view and facts Mr. Burnett points out is all too common.
This was powerful awakening and a clear-eyed review of the United States and it’s self-awareness about white supremacy (which is almost non-existent).

Lovely concept – you may be onto something
Revisado: 09-14-20
I have been wondering if there is a new form that mixes the book with other media for many years. This is a very nice execution of such an idea and just a lovely story well told him and nicely intercut with contextualized music.
I would love to talk to Sheryl or anyone associated with producing this about ideas I have for producing more. I spoke with Don Was one time about doing something similar to this and he might be a good collaborator too. I know it’s weird to put all this in a review but life‘s weird.

Again, lovely work!
