Historia
The American Civil War ended in 1863 when a comet struck North Africa, plunging the world into an environmental disaster that survivors call The Calamity. Eighteen years later, former Union soldier Cornelius Conny White turned to bounty hunting for a New England warlord. Survival in a post-apocalyptic United States is hard and cruel, and Conny can feel his humanity slowly ebbing away.

For me it all started with a random tik tok video in my feed.

I myself enjoy western stories from reconstruction era to the turn of the century. This story has an added twist with a meteor striking the African continent. Causing an almost nuclear like winter over much of the United States. Ending the Civil War between North and South and throwing the country into an apocalyptic wasteland. we always picture post apocalyptic stories set in the future. This is a nice change of pace to that genre. The story itself is meaty with multiple character archs happening and weaving seamlessly at once. The narrator and author paints a grim world full of danger, tyrannical confederate general, a fire and brimstone crazed preacher, bounty hunters, cannibals, stolen money from a far away land, I'm excited for book 2 and what happens to our protagonists. Do they make it out of Sorrow Draw TX alive? Do they survive through the Indian lands to reach the Republic of California? Is it what they hoped it would be or just a fairy tale they hoped it wasnt.
