Historia
Let us journey, with beloved physicist Carlo Rovelli, into the heart of a black hole. We slip beyond its horizon and tumble down this crack in the universe. As we plunge, we see geometry fold. Time and space pull and stretch. And finally, at the black hole’s core, space and time dissolve, and a white hole is born. Rovelli has dedicated his career to uniting the time-warping ideas of general relativity and the perplexing uncertainties of quantum mechanics. In White Holes, he reveals the mind of a scientist at work.

Carlo really has to cut back on the embellishment
Revisado: 08-03-24
Good read, but sometimes the main idea is at least partly occluded by an abuse of adornment and metaphors. Sometimes technical subject matter has to be put out there as-is to fully appreciate the thought.

Historia
A daring new vision of quantum theory from one of the leading minds of contemporary physics. In Einstein's Unfinished Revolution, theoretical physicist Lee Smolin provocatively argues that the problems that have bedeviled quantum physics since its inception are unsolved and unsolvable, for the simple reason that the theory is incomplete.

Worst narration I’ve heard in years!
Revisado: 08-03-24
Monotonous, emphasis and ideas completely uncorrelated. Made a book with great thoughts COMPLETELY miss its mark. The narrator MUST match and convey the image of the author which oftentimes is already in the reader’s mind. Imagine a book by Jennifer Doudna narrated by Hulk Hogan (not good). This is especially awkward when you are already familiar with the author and his ideas.

Historia
Professor Brian Cox uncovers some of the most extraordinary natural events on Earth and in the universe and beyond. From the immensity of the universe and the roundness of Earth to the form of every single snowflake, the forces of nature shape everything we see. Pushed to extremes, the results are astonishing. In seeking to understand the everyday world, the colours, structure, behaviour and history of our home, we develop the knowledge and techniques necessary to step beyond the everyday.

EVERYBODY should read Brian’s book!
Revisado: 02-12-19
I am serious; if everybody in the world read this book we would have a better planet to live in. It is impossible to appreciate something that we do not understand or know how rare and fragile it is. Every earthling should know why the sky is blue, sunsets red, and rainbows an arch.

Do we really understand what gravity is? Taouil continues where Einstein left off, expanding on the theory of general relativity in a ground-breaking new concept about gravity and what it really is. His ideas are profound, and the implications can change the world of physics. The audiobook is easy to hear, and gives a step-by-step historical background to the science behind his observations that is both powerful and fascinating.

The only good thing about this audiobook is that it’s short, so not much time is wasted on it.
