The leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
Revisado: 02-12-25
The thing that sticks out to me the most is the way this man led people. His team would strategize a march or boycott whatever then get as many people involved. Along the way he would keep the vision fresh on his people’s minds then make general statements to the people about what was right and wrong, not only with the opposition but also among themselves. MLK was an example to all of what it means to fulfill your potential and purpose in life. Build yourself young and don’t take shortcuts. Pour yourself out when it’s your time and don’t leave anything on the table.

Historia
More than 1,000 extraordinary Americans share their stories and the wisdom they have gained on living, loving, and finding happiness. After a chance encounter with an extraordinary 90-year-old woman, renowned gerontologist Karl Pillemer began to wonder what older people know about life that the rest of us don't. His quest led him to interview more than one thousand Americans over the age of 65 to seek their counsel on all the big issues- children, marriage, money, career, aging.

It’s like story time with your grandparents

Some of the lessons I don’t agree with, and being in my late 20’s I might just have to learn the hard way and that’s ok. More often did I find myself being inspired to do more and live fully because of this book. Everyday I would call my old lady and tell her about the chapter I was on and it would start deep meaningful conversations that left us dreaming about the future or opening up in ways that grew us closer. She’s not the audible type so I’m bying the book for her this Christmas.
