Sometimes simple and well explained is good
Revisado: 01-01-25
Authors experience is evident and claims are backed up with real life examples leading to to the book feeling grounded in reality. Lectures can be on the simpler side but it can be good to go over the basics. Unfortunately lectures can focus on not very important things. Narrator gives nice performance but also can be longwinded at times.

Physical impact on brain.
Revisado: 12-31-24
When the subject of learning speed was brought up the only intervention proposed was trans cranial stimulation. In general the author is too focused on physical effects on the brain. Also 'ordinal' does not mean the variable measured is a complex phenomenon or constructed index.

Historia
Cutting-edge research on the brain's interaction with the body shows that health is directly impacted by our social environments, socioeconomic status, culture, behaviors, relationships, psychological states, and habits of mind, among many factors. Mind-body medicine-working in partnership with traditional medical practice-uses a large range of psychological, physical, and behavioral treatments in a model of health care that aims to treat the whole human being.

Why are we choosing to have fewer children, even as we put more time into raising each one? Why are we so often willing to follow the herd and the opinions of strangers when making important decisions, even when those decisions are deeply personal? Most surprising: Why are questions like these increasingly attracting the attention of economists?

Is this how libertarians view the world?
Revisado: 12-21-24
Often interesting but also sometimes silly. Feels political and not solid enough to be really educational. When explains the commons tragedy, I think author should have mention en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_cost and their effects.

Historia
What is the meaning of life? It's a question every thoughtful person has pondered at one time or another. Indeed, it may be the biggest question of all-at once profound and universal, but also deeply personal. We want to understand the world in which we live, but we also want to understand how to make our own lives as meaningful as possible; to know not only why we're living, but that we're doing it with intention, purpose, and ethical commitment.

Narrator and author explain interesting concepts easily. Some of the literature and philosophy choices a bit questionable. I would like it to be longer.

Historia
Western philosophy is a vast intellectual tradition, the product of thousands of years of revolutionary thought built up by a rich collection of brilliant minds. But to understand the Western intellectual tradition is to get only half the story. The Eastern intellectual tradition has made just as important a contribution-and is also the product of thousands of years of cumulative thought by a distinct group of brilliant thinkers. Their ideas demonstrate wholly different ways of approaching and solving the same fundamental issues that concerned the West's greatest thinkers, such as . the existence of God; . the meaning of life; and. the nature of truth and reality. This epic and comprehensive 36-lecture examination of the East's most influential philosophers and thinkers-from a much-honored teacher and scholar-offers a thought-provoking look at the surprising connections and differences between East and West. By introducing you to the people-including The Buddha, Ashoka, Prince Shotoku, Confucius, and Gandhi-responsible for molding Asian philosophy and for giving birth to a wide variety of spiritual and ideological systems, it will strengthen your knowledge of cultures that play increasingly important roles in our globalized 21st-century world.

Most performers were great and all were pleasant to listen too.
Book bounces between characters too fast .
Reader needs to have read the previous books to understand what is going on in this one.
This book turned out less entertaining than dumb isekai and litrpg books. Stopped at chapter 5 and half a year later did not pick it up again.
