A dark and sweeping adventure, Dreamcatcher is set in the haunted city of Derry - the site of Stephen King's It and Insomnia. Great story
Revisado: 11-08-24
I’d like to note I had to turn the volume up all the way to hear this and while playing it in the car I had it up to 33 on my stereo while driving. It’s just too soft. I know people mention changing it to better audio but I don’t see that available anywhere on the app. That was truly the only issue. I felt the reader did a great job and I enjoyed the voices too! The story was fantastic!

Historia
Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

Confusing
Revisado: 05-21-24
I was already introduced to the non profit website as well as a free seminar. I thought to book would present more examples of implementation and explain more scenarios for how to handle different parts of plan B, but this book didn’t do any of that. Just the same general synopsis which is utilized on the website. The Facebook support group provides a much more interactive and “hands on” experience of how to approach and trouble shoot problems proactively.

Great read
Revisado: 02-05-23
There were parts I almost felt triggered or attacked because of not setting boundaries for myself and just giving in to people with this behavior. It also opened my eyes to some people who may actually have BPD who I never thought of having any issues other than moodiness and very good at guilt tripping. It just gave me so much information I will definitely need to play this through again!

Helpful information and perspective
Revisado: 02-02-23
It took a bit to get use to the narration and it felt very bland. Granted the presentation isn’t horrible—it’s just different. This is the first audio book that I really took notes on because there is so much great information. I think even if someone were to skim through this book they would find something of value. I like how when information is presented with examples. There was also a big flag for me in parts about how fathers are treated differently when trying to seek help as a caregiver to a child with autism and there is a disparity here. I’m definitely interested in reading more from Temple Grandin to gain further understanding.

Great life skills
Revisado: 05-16-20
This book opens up so many possibilities. It not only got me thinking about how we give and receive love with others, but how we feel love in ourselves when we perform certain love languages.
As the author states near the beginning, this also translates into the work place. If employees feel (appreciated), they perform better.
It’s also made me look at the love language of my child. I would highly recommend this book to help you work on relationships in your life and that’s not just with your spouse, but in all aspects. It’s not super preachy in case anyone is turned off by that, but there are a few bible passages presented in the text as part of the background stories. It’s not overwhelming and dreary.
