The narrator for MINDY sounds like an automaton. Very odd choice by yhe producers. However, the rest of yhe book was great. the last few lines of the epilougue . . . . . made me CRY. Only a mother can understand and feel the emotion there. AMY MCFADDEN is one of my ALL TIME FAVS! As always, Amy, amazing job!!!

Seems the author might have used all of his ideas in the first portions of the book. The last few chapters tend to go on and on about the same things. Overall it's a good read though. I plan to look into more of this series.

The narrator-- Angela Dawe-- has, at times, a monotone, depressing air about her. There are portions if the book that, if read by someone else, wouldnt seem nearly as dark and flat as they do. However, the story-- written by Janis Thomas-- is FABULOUS!
What mom hasn't thought of all the ways her life just sucks--- the kids don't behave the way you raised them, your home needs a face lift, careers are often chosen for, not what INSPORES us, but what is convenient for us . . . .
This mom is FINALLY able to do something about all that ails her. But she quickly finds out that life is NEVER perfect--- even if we get everything single thing that we could wish for.
Throughout the book, and definitely at the end, I found myself having to take a really tough inventory of my life. And because of Ms. Thomas' work, I've made a vow to:
1. Change the way I think about things
2. Start loving what I have--- and not what I believe I SHOULD HAVE
3. Love the important people in my life like it's the only obligation I'll EVER have to fulfill

The only reason I continued to listen to this book is because I wanted to know how the main character became a part of her parents' lives. The narrator has a "whispered" tone--- she sounds like she is reading the story in a room full of sleeping people! The storyline keeps repeating itself in the form of letters from the main character to/from supporting characters. There is no depth, no suspense, and no brawn to make this story work. As is---- it's a flop.

CAROLINE PAGAN is a part of the lucky authors' club who gets to have her work brought to life by the narration of AMY MCFADDEN! I'M FINE AND NEITHER ARE YOU is a brilliant account of what someone thinks after a tragedy befalls her friend. I have also recently gone through the exact same situation and the thoughts running through the main character's head are spot on with what has gone through mine during this heartbreaking time. On top of it all, her marriage is in need of attention-- once again something I have also gone through. I had to pause several times to wipe tears and get myself ready to continue listening. You won't be disappointed in this book.
Thank you for helping me realize that I'm not broken, Caroline.
