This story had me glued. I loved the twists & turns. The narrator’s voice and read were awesome- loved how he voiced the witches and their changing characters- really made the story come to life. Hoping there be a sequel.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Fascinating History
Revisado: 07-16-19
Author, Cole-Dai did an excellent job of walking the listener through the every day life of Sarah Wakefield in the 1860's, from moving a young family to Minnesota, to her time as a captive in the U.S.-Dakota War. Her attention to detail really brought that period of time, the lives and beliefs of the native Americans and a little known part of American history to life. For all history lovers, a recommended title. I only wish the narrator had given the story time to breathe in her narration. I did receive the audiobook gratis for the review.

Historia
From iconic books like Neuromancer to blockbuster films like The Matrix, virtual reality has long been hailed as the ultimate technology. But outside of a few research labs and military training facilities, this tantalizing vision of the future was nothing but science fiction. Until 2012, when Oculus founder Palmer Luckey - then just a rebellious teenage dreamer living alone in a camper trailer - invents a device that has the potential to change everything.

Great listen, even for us Luddites
Revisado: 05-08-19
I'm the most technophobic middle aged person I know, and I found the story of Palmer Lucky very interesting, and a wonderful character study and snapshot of our times. I liked how Harris brought the listener back in time throughout the story. I'm sure for those who understand the technology and use it, the book will be even more enjoyable. Bravo to Stephen Graybill's narration- very reminiscent of a Peter Coyote narration. Well done.

Love, love, love
Revisado: 08-09-16
What did you love best about The Rosie Project?
Everything. Loved the story, Loved the narration, loved the quirky lead character and the look inside his differently wired brain, the depth of the characters, did I mention the narration?
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Rosie Project?
I love the way that Don Tillman knows he has no understanding of emotions, facial or verbal expressions - and the way he reacts to the world...and that we get to hear his (confused) inner dialogue totally makes you fall in love with this character.
Which scene was your favorite?
Too many to list.
Any additional comments?
As soon as I finished the Rosie Project, I bought and listened to The Rosie Effect. Just as good!

Revisado: 08-09-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I knew it was a short story, but it felt like there was a lot missing- plot lines that could have been explored in more depth. I enjoyed the writing and characters, but wish the story was more fleshed out.
Have you listened to any of Holly Adams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I enjoyed the narration very much, the narrator did a great job of "growing up" with the main character- I would be interested in listening to more books narrated by her

Fascinating history
Revisado: 12-28-15
Where does Starring Madame Modjeska rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I'm a huge fan of Sarah Bernhardt, but had never heard of her contemporary, Helena Modjeska. What a fascinating peak into the theater of the day in Poland, and the U.S. A meticulously detailed history of the actress and her times. Very much enjoyed this audiobook. Not a "light" listen by any stretch - it's a 'meaty' listen and Martin's narration was yeoman's work!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Sally Martin's narration was akin to a favorite history professor, delivering the story of Madame Modjeska bit by bit, a consistent and easy to listen to narration- very much enjoyed her delivery.
