Too much unnecessary description of fights

This is by far my favorite genre but I couldn't force myself past the third chapter. The amount of unnecessary details of every single fight was extremely tedious and distracted from the story instead of adding to the plot. It would probably be a great book with some serious editing - I kept fast forwarding through the fight scenes and finally gave up. The fights are important but I don't need to hear about every single blow. The narrator, however, is great!

Too dark... the humor and light-hearted angle is completely gone in this edition. It is difficult to finish. More into the horror realm...

Horrific treatment of women

Enjoyable and gripping

I very much appreciated the tone of generosity in the main character in so many ways. Also the story was really gripping - I couldn't stop listening and got through it so quick because it was a story wonderfully told. If this your genre you won't be disappointed.

Standard Plumb

This is standard fare for Stephanie Plumb.
I had stopped reading the series because they had become so predictable.
This book was as well. Also I felt it unnecessary to call out size 16 women as extremely fat (The average size of of US women) and also to point out that Plumb's world isn't PC... If you are writing it well you don't need to say it.
I hadn't read a Plumb book in a while so added this to my listening list. Unfortunately, just as predictable and then the off putting comments just added a reason to be done with this series. The first dozen are great... then just more of the same.

What took me so long...It was on my wish list forever and finally got it. As the author states in his end comments - it is the perfect book for now. I needed that. Wheaton's narration is a joy as always bringing the words alive. Thanks

So Lovely

The story and the narration were wonderful. Such an enjoyable story with a very relatable heroine - maybe not the magical power but the idea of having to wear that mask. With so much that is terrible - give some time to this heart warming story. It is definitely worth it.

Amazing

Wonderful writer - however this in no way is a humorous story. The only human that could categorize it as humorous would be one who has never given birth to a child. Lovely writing and SO MUCH truth.
