More of a history story than a full story
Revisado: 07-09-24
This was a good read, but I anticipated more to the story than just some parts of Marcus’ history.

Historia
Following the explosive events of The Damned, Odette faces a vampire’s final death. The Court of the Lions have done everything they can to save her but have failed. A healer from the Sylvan Vale could help her, but only Arjun Desai, as a half fey, can cross the boundary between realms. The Sylvan Vale is a world Arjun despises, and in return, it despises him. But knowing it could save Odette, he returns to the Vale with all haste, leaving the mirrored tare between the two worlds open and unwittingly setting the stage for both love and war.

Good plot
Revisado: 02-13-24
Overall a good book, the reader does a fantastic job. It’s a good plot, though it can be confusing and a bit overwhelming with the multiple plots for the characters. The jumping around can make some parts hard to follow.

Historia
In 1872, New Orleans is a city ruled by the dead. But to 17-year-old Celine Rousseau, New Orleans is a safe haven after she's forced to flee her life as a dressmaker in Paris. Taken in by the sisters of the Ursuline convent in the middle of the carnival season, Celine is quickly enraptured by the vibrant city, from its music to its fancy soirées and even its danger. She becomes embroiled in the city's glitzy underworld, known as La Cour des Lions, after catching the eye of the group's enigmatic leader, Sébastien Saint Germain.

A little slow, but good story
Revisado: 01-30-24
This was overall a slow read because the story seemed to drag out and was sometimes hard to follow. The concepts were great, but it just lacked the “wanting” factor that you get when you can’t put a book down. The characters were perfectly designed and entertaining. The additional perspective of the “creature” was great, and read in a delicious manner and added depth to the story. The reader was delightful, she had the right voice for the story.

Read like a Christmas special
Revisado: 01-01-24
It was a cute little novella, could have had more insight from the minds of the others rather than the bulk being the main two characters. Still a great short read!
