Gripping story and brilliant narration
Revisado: 08-22-24
Incredibly well done. As a nurse myself it felt real— i walked like a shadow thru her life, felt her emotions, experiences, understood her fierce pride and honor and trauma and shame and also the horror of our collective behavior surrounding Vietnam. Showing Both the best and the worst in each of us. Emotional, Educational, revelatory. A great listen with the perfect narrator.

Delightful fantasy fairytale sprinkled with profound insight with great narration.
Revisado: 01-28-24
I loved listening to this book in every way. The narrator was perfect with her accent conveying old world authenticity
And the perfect blend of drama wit sarcasm and theatrics to make it a completely enjoyable listen. I don’t usually enjoy female reader much but this one was brilliant.
The story is everything I could have hoped for. A complete reweaving of multiple fairytale/blend with a triad of heroines. Stories of love and hardship, looking at real issues with real insight and perception and softening the edges of it by weaving it into a fairytale. This book made me smile, nod in understanding, kept me awake and listening When I should’ve gone to bed, I even shed a few tears, and it definitely moved me, as well as amused me. I can highly recommend it.

Historia
Rick Dockery was the third-string quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. In a championship game, to the surprise and dismay of everyone, Rick actually got into the game and then provided what was arguably the worst single performance in the history of the NFL. Overnight, he became a national laughingstock and, of course, was immediately cut by the Browns and shunned by all other teams. But against enormous odds, Arnie finally locates another team that will have him: the mighty Panthers of Parma, Italy.

A decent story, better if you like/understand football
Revisado: 01-13-24
Decent story exploring the choices and difficulties of a bottom line top tier athlete. Lots of football details which i personally didnt follow but i liked the food for thought it provided about how our very best athletes must cope with thier inevitable fall and where do they go? What do they do? Not grishams best but thought provoking

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Just not engaging. Lots of technical filler
Revisado: 12-31-23
Slugged thru 5 chapters then decided it wasnt worth the time. Still had not engaged my interest and i started fast forwarding thru gobs of technical details how to survive on the moon. I was more looking for a fun sci fi story than a detailed explanation of the inner workings of life on the moon. Reader was fine and seemed to fit the character personality.

Action packed, tumultuous, the best & worst of humanity
Revisado: 10-07-22
This 3rd book continues the sci-fi dystopian saga of darrow as he seeks to overthrow the injustice of the pyramidal society he was born into. Never truly knowing Who is friend and who is foe but always hoping for the best in both. full of breakneck action followed by intense introspection and lots of surprises I must admit this kept me thoroughly entertained and then one day horrified me with the most unexpected betrayal. When I finally worked up the nerve to return to the story I was glad i did . And the narrator is brilliant. His voice and intonations and characterizations make these stories so easy to follow. Highly recommended.

Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

My least favorite john grisham to date
Revisado: 11-08-21
Usually enjoy Grisham but gave up on this one at chapter 22. Probably very realistic but I typically read Grisham to be entertained and amused and this was depressing and sad and i couldn’t get past 1/2 way so dont know if it improved.

The only clue left behind is a tiny bladed robot, nearly invisible to the human eye. In the lush forests of Oahu, groundbreaking technology has ushered in a revolutionary era of biological prospecting. Trillions of microorganisms, tens of thousands of bacteria species, are being discovered; they are feeding a search for priceless drugs and applications on a scale beyond anything previously imagined.

Wanted to love this but it was a flop
Revisado: 07-05-21
While the science could have been super cool (and I expect great science ideas from chrichton) this Plot and the writing style was incredibly juvenile. I could have recommended it to my 12 yr old nephew except it was made hard to digest and plodding by a heavy dose of lame dialog, repetition and way out there philosophical ideas that made little sense. I gave up after chapter 12–nothing was well thought out. Not worth listening to.
