Historia
What does everyone in the modern world need to know? Renowned psychologist Jordan B. Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

Historia
Every leader must be ready and willing to take charge, to make hard, crucial calls for the good of the team and the mission. Something much more difficult to understand is that in order to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. This is a dichotomy - a Dichotomy of Leadership. It is, as authors Jocko Willink and Leif Babin explained in their best-selling first audiobook, Extreme Ownership, “Simple, Not Easy”.

The authors reading the book is awesome.
They definitely stepped up their game in making it clear and concise.
This book does step away from the certainty of the first book, but I can't fault them for it.

Historia
More than a decade before the release of the book that would make him famous, Robert M. Pirsig had already caught hold of the central theme that would animate Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Though he was revered by fans who considered him a guru, the famously private Pirsig published only two books and consented to few interviews and almost no public appearances. Now, for the first time, listeners will be granted access to five decades of Pirsig’s personal writings in this posthumous collection that illuminates the evolution of his thinking to an unprecedented degree.

Don't read before zen and the art of motorcycle...
Revisado: 06-09-22
Don't read this book before zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, as you will not have the required knowledge to understand the concepts fully.
The entire second chapter takes excerpts from the book without the preceding parts and with a great deal of the logic missing in the middle.
As the narrator noted in "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" ... "if I were to babble what's really on my mind about, say, the a priori presumption of the continuity of a motorcycle from second to second and do this without benefit of the entire edifice of the Chautauqua, they'd just be startled and wonder what's wrong."
too much is left out.

Historia
John T. Cacioppo's groundbreaking research topples one of the pillars of modern medicine and psychology: the focus on the individual as the unit of inquiry. By employing brain scans, monitoring blood pressure, and analyzing immune function, he demonstrates the overpowering influence of social context - a factor so strong that it can alter DNA replication.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

holy bloody mother, this book is amazing
Revisado: 02-25-21
To all those people that feel like they achieved something beyond their means and don't know how to reconcile with it. This book shows you that you're not some special little snowflake and you don't need to have an inferiority/superiority complex about it.
I used to feel like I was the only person that felt this way. However, the author showed that regardless of the field of expertise or upbringing, we all share something with the common lot of humanity.
He gives a nice reference frame for cross comparison by providing the full story without leaving out the failures and ugly details.
Loved the book and grateful for the perspective... view changing.
The audio version and the choice to have Matthew McConaughey read it himself was brilliant. Couldn't ask for a better voice and the associated emotions were priceless.
