I want my time back
Revisado: 04-06-24
I didn’t enjoy this story. To me the way the narrator voiced the character reminded me of Storm from X-men. I thought this story was gonna have some action in it… NOPE. This story is emotional and boring. I’m half way through the story. I can’t finish this.

Historia
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Revisado: 10-20-23
3/4 of the way through this book was pretty boring. I kept listening hoping it would pick up. The narrator did a good job, it’s just the story was lacking. It didn’t get good till the end. There wasn’t enough character development. Not even a slight funny moment. It had too much unnecessary technical detail. And the enemy was a 1 trick pony.

This book is definitely worth a listen to!!!
Revisado: 10-14-23
The overall story is excellent. I’ve listened to a lot of books and I’ve become kinda picky and lose interest quickly. At no point in this story did I get bored. There is plenty of action! The narration was on point as well. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND giving this one a listen to.

I lost interest
Revisado: 04-04-23
At first the story started off with good potential. But after awhile it became boring. The characters were somewhat likable enough and had potential. Unfortunately I got about 8 chapters in before I started to get annoyed by the main character lusting over a robot. It got to the point where she lost focus of her mission and the story started to get weird. Maybe the story picks back up, but I can’t get past this hump. I’m pretty much just gonna quit at this point. Maybe I’ll come back to it later and give it another try. Probably not though. The narrator gets 5 stars, unfortunately that’s still not enough to save this book.

Historia
Lieutenant Callum Harper knows that his team are as tough as they come: nine highly trained men and women and one battle robot who’s 11 feet of pure, cybernetic muscle. But as they drop through the atmosphere of the uncharted planet Capsun 23, Cal can’t shake the feeling that something is off about this mission. Three data drones have previously touched down, but soon after went dark. And now, all communication with a group of civilian researchers has been lost. Intel suspects scavengers are to blame - or at worst, pirates. But Cal’s instincts are telling him otherwise.

First I'll start by saying I'm a mailman which means everyday I have alot of listening time. With that being said I've gone through a good number of si-fi/ apocalyptic stories. This is by far the most boring book I've listened to thus far. I mean WOW! I got 11 chapters in, so I can honestly (in my eyes) say I gave this story a fair shake. I rarely leave bad reviews but I had to make an exception for this one. Naw son this ain't it B! Shits trash my guy🤣😂 On to the next one. p.s. The narrator wasn't bad though, but sadly he still couldn't save this one 🤷🏾♂️

The planet is called Banshee. The air is unbreathable, the water poisonous. It is the home of the most implacable enemies that humanity, in all its interstellar expansion, has ever encountered. Felix is a scout in A-team Two. Highly competent, he is the sole survivor of mission after mission. Yet he is a man consumed by fear and hatred.

Good... then super boring
Revisado: 10-08-20
So initially when you listen to the first segment of this it's pretty good. The action is pretty good and seemingly has potential promise to get better. They get a little thick but yet vague with certain details of the story, but you could still over look it and keep up with what's going on. So the first segment is good...
Now comes the Bad and the Ugly all mixed in one. The second segment of this book starts off on a Captain Jack Sparrow Pirates of the Caribbean vibe. I'm not going to go as far as saying that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it's certainly different coming off of what you were just listening to in the first segment. After you get 2 about the XI / XII chapter, the book slows all the way down and get super (poetically) boring as hell! I don't know if the writer just gave someone else the wheel and let them take it for a spin, but it got really unbearable and hard to keep up with. By this point I lost total interest and gave up, and here we have it. I couldn't go any further.
Oh and the narrator kind of sucks too... Sorry bro

The government said the Variants were dying off.... That the beasts would be extinct in a matter of years.... That the Allied States had returned to prosperity and freedom.... The government was dead wrong. Deep under the cities, the Variants weren't just hiding, they were breeding. While the human survivors of the Extinction Cycle built outposts and brought back industries, the monsters were building something of their own.

4-4.5 out of 5 is right
Revisado: 03-11-20
The story was pretty good. There was a decent amount of action. I wouldn't say it was a lot, but it was enough to keep your biscuit buttered. They also have a few likable characters to root for. Without giving the story away, to me it was less about scrounging and surviving an apocalypse, and more of a apocalyptic war story.

The ending has potential to possibly deliver something better in the sequel. It just sucks that I had to undergo listening to this long boring story just to get to a somewhat good to be continued ending. You fooled me once but there won't be a second time around

Don't waste your money/credit
Revisado: 02-11-20
I struggled to finish listening to this unnecessarily long ass book. I didn't want to waste my credit, and I hate not finishing what I start. This book is beyond boring and super whaaaack! All the characters are cowardly. This is definitely not your typical apocalyptic story. I definitely wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.
